You can use any materials you want -- paint, crayons, lego, clay, fabric, photography or anything else! You mighteven like to create a video!!Take a photo of your piece and upload it to the Young Thinker Forum or email it to actkids@act.gov.au. Or sendthrough your video using the same links.

You must be under 25 years old.You must live, go to school/university, or work in the ACT.We need your permission to share what you send us. Your name will only be shared or published if you tell us youwant it to be.You have the right to be recognised as the person who created your work. In some circumstances, we may needto contact you to check what you would like us to do to uphold your rights.If you are under 12 years old, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to send us material. (Your parent orguardian doesn’t have to agree with what you say though.)We will not share your material if it could harm, hurt or offend other people, or if it discriminates against people.If you send through a video recording, we will not share the video if you or anyone else can be recognised in therecording. For example, if it shows your face or the faces of others.If we have concerns or worries about your safety or wellbeing, or someone else’s safety or wellbeing, we may haveto share your information.

About Lockdown Legacies Art Competition

Although it may not feel like it, we are living in historic times. In the future, people might look back at this pandemicand wonder how it felt to be in lockdown, learning from home and not being able to travel. Art is one way wepreserve memories and history. So the ACT Children and Young People Commissioner (CYPC) has created LockdownLegacies: An art competition for children and young people in the ACT.

How to enter

Prizes will be awarded in each of the following categories:

Winners are chosen by the ACT Children and Young People Commissioner. All decisions are final. Winners will be publicly announced via social media and on the ACTkids website. They will also be contacted directly.

We will treat what you send us carefully and follow the Information Privacy Act (2014), the Human Rights CommissionAct 2005 and the Children and Young People Act 2008. This means that the personal information you provide to uswill be kept private and will generally not be passed on to another person or organisation unless you agree or a lawrequires us to. How we will use your submissionEntries may be displayed on our webpage and social media or in printed and online CYPC publications. We alsointend to put entries together in a special Lockdown Legacies book, which will be distributed to entrants and keystakeholders in the ACT.
