TWO GIANTS COMBINE THEIR EXPERTISELiteEarthTM, produced by Act Global and Solmax, both leaders in their own industries,

have combined their expertise to produce the patented LiteEarthTM Capping System.

This monolithic geocomposite capping system features a 40-mil Linear Low-Density

Polyethylene (LLDPE) geomembrane, bonded to an advanced UV stabilized synthetic

turf. This turf is needle punch reinforced with a nonwoven polyester fabric for superior

ply adhesion and enhanced tuft bind strength. This product allows the combination of

proven performance and durability of LLDPE Series geomembranes for capping, with the

aesthetical and low maintenance free benefits of synthetic turf.

eroSIoN AND MAINTeNANCe free CAPPING SYSTeMThe main concerns with capping systems are erosion and maintenance. Covered caps need significant

design considerations and maintenance to avoid erosion of the cover. Those issues are eliminated with

the fully anchored and fully geosynthetic LiteEarthTM capping system.

While other geosynthetic-based systems are offered with similar claims, the patented LiteEarthTM

capping system is the only monolithic geosynthetic system, which means that there is no granular

ballast to maintain. LiteEarthTM is made of a 40-mil LLDPE Series geomembrane laminated to synthetic

turf which has been reinforced with a nonwoven polyester fabric needle punched to the primary backing.

It is anchored down to avoid wind uplift using permanent engineered anchors designed for this specific

application. Once installed, there is no need for drainage, granular layers, vegetation or maintenance.

Due to its UV stabilized fibers used as synthetic turf, LiteEarthTM comes with a warranty according to

industry standards.

LLDPe for CAPPING SYSTeMSLLDPE Series geomembranes are the most common liners used as barriers for capping systems. Whether

it is for mine tailing closures, municipal solid waste, construction and demolition, hazardous waste, coal

ash or industrial landfills, LLDPE Series geomembranes are the material of choice throughout the world.

The high multi-axial deformation properties combined with its high stress crack resistance and durability

allow for long-term performance and movement of the liner due to differential settlement of the underlying

material.

Solmax’s 40-mil LLDPE Series geomembranes meets or exceeds the internationally recognized GRI GM-17

standard’s properties. With over 100 million square feet installed every year, Solmax’s LLDPE Series is the

most utilized LLDPE geomembrane in the world.

LiteEarthTM uses Solmax’s proven LLDPE Series as barrier for its capping system.

LoNG LASTING SYNTHeTIC TUrfLiteEarthTM’s synthetic turf uses UV-stabilized fibers manufactured by the industry leading Act Global.

The expertise gained through the years by this worldwide leader in manufacturing of synthetic turf fields,

allows LiteEarthTM to be made of some of the longest-lasting fibers available on the market.

The durable spined monofilament grass stands up, eliminating the need for infill and reducing the risk

of erosion from wind or water. The synthetic grass blades are secured into the primary backing and tuft

bind complemented by a needle punched nonwoven polyester fabric for a green, sustainable, and natural

looking turf.

ProVeN PerforMANCeLiteEarthTM is made of LLDPE, the most common capping material around the world. It requires no

additional equipment or expertise to install than standard 40-mil LLDPE Series geomembranes, which

have standardized and proven installation and QA/QC methods.

LiteEarth’sTM monolithical design also allows for fast and easy installation, reducing cost and time of

installation, while ensuring a long-term performance. LiteEarthTM is an easy and efficient solution for

capping and closures.
