Los Falles• The “fallas” are a Valencian tradition
celebrated at the time of Easter. Sections of Valencia have their own Casal Faller that works year-round for this celebration. People make big statues out of wood, then burns them on Easter. At midnight, the largest statue, sometimes standing 5 stories high, is burned. The previously lit statues and this one create a scene throughout the city to appear that it is burning down. In Valencia, fire insurance is the thing to have.
