These are the photos that Sarah gathered for our group, this was done to allow us to see whether Blackpool was the correct location for our setting in the

music video filming session. Each photo will include a description of where we may use this particular area into our music video and why it is a good photo or

what could be done to change it and make it better etc. This will then help when it comes to deciding the location that will best suit our song and lyrics.

This photo is an establishing shot showing the surrounding areas within Blackpool, it allows us to see what Blackpool has to offer to our music video and how it will look when being filmed. This particular shot will most likely be used at the start of the music video allowing the viewer to see where the music video is going to take place. This will either appear before we seen the main characters to the music video or we will see the main characters in the shot with the surrounding areas behind them. This will help set the scene for what the music video will unfold upon the story and the meaning behind the music video itself. Blackpool is the perfect

place for a romantic setting as you have the beach, the steps leading up and also the sea itself – this helps to create the perfect atmosphere for the storyline. However, as this is not a proper love story we can still use this beach but have to be cautious of where in the music video it is placed, it has to be able to link with the lyrics as well. I wouldn’t change anything on this photo as it has the correct lighting for the song and also has the atmosphere where you can believe what you think. This will reflect through the lyrics and the music video itself making it appear in a different light. Also the fog that we can see running across the sky shows different side to Blackpool, usually it is sunny but this type of weather will be suitable for our song as it isn’t a love story but a story about lies and love being lost.

This photo is also an establishing shot which could also be used at the beginning of the music video as well as being used at the end. This would make a good ending to the video, if we were to see the characters walking hand in hand away from the camera showing their backs to the camera. This would create the ending for a video with the showing of the lies being left behind. This could also be used as a romantic scene walking along the beach front hand in hand, talking about different topics and glazing into each others eyes. As our song isn’t romantic related this may or may not work as it may be hard to show this particular part as it doesn’t really relate to the music theme. However, this could become a really good shot in the music video as it displays the correct feeling and atmosphere, that should be shown without our video. With this particular shot we would be able to add props such as a guitar and amp maybe a few other different props to allow the shot to be presented in a old time period but still gathers the same impression on the music being played.

From this photo we can see a really nice scenery which can be viewed from the platform shown on the photo below. This would be a good shot to use within our music video as we could film them stood on the platform level with the camera or film from a low angle looking up at them leaning over the rail. This would show off our camera skills and would be able to show a different position of a camera shot on the music video. This shot would occur in the actual filming not at the beginning or the end of the video, although it is an establishing shot it has to much detail and meaning to be put at the end or beginning of the music video. A shot like this would be used to help tell the story of the lyrics and the meaning behind them, as the characters show the storyline we could include people behind them playing, running and jumping around the beach running up the stairs and just generally having a good time, this could add to the lyrics and also be just as a kind of flashback in a way. As the beach would be used for the main music video we could use the prier or another area in Blackpool to create the flashbacks making it look different and create a different feeling and atmosphere as well as having a different setting making the flashbacks more realistic and better in every kind of way. This photo would be a good way to show the important filming shots as it can be filmed from different angles and positions, making it seem a bigger picture.

Here, we have a photo showing us the prier, this would be very useful within our music video as we could use the setting on the actual prier or underneath it creating two different settings. The lighting for this photo will be able to show what the storyline means and using this during the video will help to understand that characters and what they mean to each other. As this is an establishing shot it can be used at the start of the music video, however, I would use this during it to help create the emotion needed within the lyrics of the song.

For this particular photo we could use this for the chorus as it is an establishing shot and shows different layers to the shot. The setting of this photo is really good from the location point of view and also the lighting shown through the clouds. The front of the photo is quite dark and gets lighter as we look further back this would be a really good establishing shot to use during the music video that we are going to create.

As we can see on this photo this would be used throughout the filming of our music video, as it is just a long walkway therefore using this for the main areas throughout the song would be a good idea. The views that we can see from this photo are the Christmas lights on the left-hand side and then on the right-hand side we can see the sea and the beach this would be good being allow to film the characters walking along here with the lights in the backdrop and then them walking onto the beach itself.

This photo just shows the beach and sea close-up and also a bird, showing that we could include the birds into the music video making it look unique as they are just placed throughout the video. We could also have the characters sat down here looking out to the sea and them cuddling or being close – this would show them being an item and hopefully with the birds being in the shot with them it will look unique and different.
