BRB – ZZZzzzZZZIn our office we have blurred lines between working hours and fun times. The ping pong breaks
and coffee rituals are the small things that make us inspired to do great work. But the small
sized office can be compared to sharing a room with your sibling. It is great to be able to be
together, but sometimes you need a break for yourself. BRB allows us to regain energy by taking
a rest. It is about feeling free to create your own norms in the office and to do the things that
make you feel good.

Umbrella – Shield yourself from distractions
Working intimately with colleagues is an advantage of a small scale office, but sometimes we
need to hide away and get some privacy. This is the office umbrella. It’s much easier to enjoy
the rain when it’s on your conditions, and the same goes for talking to colleagues. Umbrella is
your shelter where you can shield yourself - not from weather - but rather, from distractions.
With endless positioning you can instantly create temporary privacy and communicate “work
mode” to your associates.

Bunk desk – I call shotgun!
Being cramped into a narrow space and calling it office is a common phenomenon when
looking at small scale offices. Working together, laughing together and watching funny cat clips
together. In this setting, everything is more or less done as a group. Occasionally, some alone
time is tempting. Right above your head is a space that is different. A space where buzz fades
and new perspectives begins. You just need a way to access it.

Plants are used in offices to improve air quality and uplift the mood. Although this is nice they
easily get neglected in a bustling office. Fortunately, there’s an easy way to take care of the
plants that take care of us. Babylon is a two-part pot in earthenware. By pouring water into the
funnel you irrigate all plants in one go. The water goes to an inner chamber which gradually
transfers out to the soil in the outer pot. This keeps the soil damp and the plants happy.

Workaround – Transformable furniture system promoting collaboration
Workaround is a pop-up furniture landscape, transforming along with the different activities
and needs within a small scale office. While promoting interior variations it also allows for new,
exciting perspectives and working positions from one day to the next.
The see-through plastic is enhancing the transparency at the office promoting collaboration
and interaction. Just as much as it is an ever changing furniture for teams it is also a tool for
creating trust and relations within a space.

Finder is a storage unit with trays instead of drawers that moves to surround the current activity.
A common habit is to gather things to support what we are doing, but this hoarding can result
in a mess and confusion on the desk. Finder does not seek to prohibit, but rather to work with
this behaviour - easily minimizing and maximizing tasks, like an operating system. Conventional
storage can neglect their objects. The transparency of Finder questions what we need in a place
where space is precious.

Plug & play – Be your own electrician
What if electrical wiring could be fun, flexible and visual? That was the thought that evolved into
PLUG & PLAY: A modular wiring system that turns any space into a workplace. By placing access
hubs and connecting them with flexible cords, the user can create a dynamic and changeable
power grid in the office. Afterwards, changing and expanding the network is effortless and
easier than refurnishing.

Coffee is iconic for bringing colleagues together to socialize and re-energize throughout the

The secretary has long been an appreciated furniture for freeing up extra space in our homes.
But a lack in sufficient workspace has kept it from making a natural transition into the office.
Deskretary is a big brother to the traditional secretary in more than one sense. As it is opened,
the legs extend to carry a full sized tabletop. Once closed, Deskretary politely takes a step back
again to hide your belongings. Giving others room to work while you are not there.

Zip it – Insulate or interact
A workplace always manages to have distracting noise or annoying colleagues when you need
to concentrate on work. Zip It!, a sound insulation chair, allows discretion with your privacy by
changing the sound in your environment. Insulate your workspace and politely tell your office
to zip it without raising your voice. When it’s time to discuss or make some noise yourself, unzip
and interact.

Step into the office and set up your stage for the day. How about a warm and cosy light when it
is getting darker outside? Or maybe a cold light to see your workspace crystal clear? With three
different colour temperatures it is possible to create a personal workspace even in an office

Fold - From loom to room
Textiles are an important team player in the office interior. In addition to providing a warm and
welcoming atmosphere it can protect you visually and absorb unpleasant sounds. FOLD is a
pleating textile doing just that. Developed through an innovative approach to the process of
digital weaving the multifunctional self folding fabric can be used in various situations in order
to improve the office environment.
FOLD is the outcome of an exploration of the art of weaving with support from Bergen Academy
and Innvik weaving mill.
