Salute to GraduateS 10 The Baytown Sun Thursday, May 21, 2020 Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP announced it has selected 40 recipients for its 2020 dependents’ scholarships. The company ofers employees’ dependents annual scholarships to pursue undergraduate degrees at accredited four-year colleges or universites, two-year degrees or certfcatons, and advanced degrees for graduate studies. Since incepton, the program has awarded more than $3.3 million in scholarships. The individuals from the greater Baytown area include: “Part of our company’s vision is to be the employer and neighbor of choice across the many communites where we operate,” said Bryce Hallowell, public afairs manager. “A critcal component of executng on this vision is to support educatonal pursuits of exceptonal students from the many parents and guardians who make our company a great place to work. It is an honor for us to support scores of new bright minds every year.” During the scholarship selecton process, academic records of eligible students undergo thorough, third-party vetng, along with an assessment of their leadership skills and partcipaton in school and community actvites. Those include special honors, work experience, goals and aspiratons, unique personal or family circumstances, as well as recommendatons from advisers, teachers or employers. Kaylee Morales Kaylee Morales of League City recently graduated from Clear Falls High School and plans to atend University of Notre Dame. She is the daughter of Mike Morales, safety specialist, and Cristan Morales, process safety superintendent, both at the Cedar Bayou Plant in Baytown. Elise Holbrook Elise Holbrook of Dayton recently graduated from Dayton High School and plans to atend Lee College. She is the daughter of David Holbrook, operatons specialist, at the Cedar Bayou Plant in Baytown. Kayleigh Deakle Kayleigh Deakle of Mont Belvieu is graduatng from Galveston College and will be atending The University of St. Thomas to contnue her academic and athletc career. Rajveer Korpe Rajveer Korpe of Jenks, Oklahoma recently graduated from Jenks High School and plans to atend University of Oklahoma. He is the son of Rahul Korpe, process safety engineer, at the Cedar Bayou Plant in Baytown. Austin Douglas Austn Douglas of Hufman recently graduated from Hargrave High School and plans to atend Sam Houston State University.
