A lifetime resident of Coeur d’Alene, Joe has fished the blue-ribbon streams and rivers of the Inland Northwest for more than three decades and guided on them for over 20 years. Joe has also fly fished around the globe, including Russia, Scotland, New Zealand, Belize, Chile, Argentina, Republic of Kirabati (Christmas Island), the Bahamas as well as many of the famous rivers of the United States. However, the waters of the Inland Northwest remain among his favorite fishing grounds. A few of Joe’s accomplishments include: His first appearance as a fly tier at the Federation of Fly Fishers Conclave in West Yellowstone was at age 12 and he became a Master Fly Tier at age 14. Coeur d’Alene River: Flowing gently from theheadwaters in the Coeur d’Alene Mountains, theCd’A River is home water to all our guides, withample dry fly fishing for Westslope Cutthroattrout. This river affords anglers the opportunity tofish by either drift boat or by wading. Full days orhalf, float or wade/walk, your choice.

Clark Fork River: The Clark Fork is one of ourmost popular adventures. Located 90 miles fromCoeur d’Alene, a scenic drive into the BitterrootMountains and Lolo National Forest of Montana.The Clark Fork was made for drift boat fishing, andour guides will position the drift boat just outsideof the feeding lane, providing anglers an excellentopportunity to cast to Rainbow, Cutthroat andBrown trout, averaging 12”-20”. A full day trip only.

Hayden Lake: Located 5 miles north east of Coeurd’Alene, we hold the exclusive guide permits forHayden Lake. This destination is very popularamongst Pike and Smallmouth Bass anglers. If youhaven’t tried Pike or Smallmouth on the fly, wehighly recommend it. Hayden also holds some ofthe largest Crappie known to fly anglers. Great for

half day adventures.

St. Joe River: From head waters in the Bitterrootmountains, this shadowy freestone canyon river isone of the best fly fishing rivers Idaho has to offer.Anglers who choose this wade/walk adventure willbe guided in wading techniques, stream reading,locating fish and using currents to their advantage.Allow a full day for St Joe trips. USFS Permit.

Booking Policy

Upper Columbia River: The upper portion of themighty Columbia River, called Jurassic River bysome, is home to monster Rainbow trout, whichaverage 15-22 inches, though larger ones are notunusual. A well-kept secret, fishing the UpperColumbia in northeastern Washington Stateprovides prime opportunities year round for you tocatch wild trout on the fly. Full day only.

Thompson River: The Thompson begins at theoutlet of Thompson Lake in northwestern Montanaand ends over fifty miles later at the confluence of theClark Fork River. Somewhat isolated, the Thompson isopen all year and runs clear most of it. Possessing allthe classic ingredients of a great trout stream, theThompson is home to an abundance of Cutthroat,Rainbow and Brown trout. Plan a wade/walk fly fishing adventureand discover this isolated treasure, the Thompson River. Full day.

Methow River: The Methow (pronounced met-how) in northeastern Washington State starts fromthe watershed off the east slope of the northernCascades down through the Methow Valley. Thisamazingly resilient freestone river, surrounded byhigh glaciated peaks, and formed from frigid watersthat tumble down to the valley floor to create a

natural fish habitat for a variety of species, including the SteelheadSalmon. What a better way to combat winter blues than to wetyour line and experience first class fly fishing. Full day only.
