us? Kindy Fees 2017

Invoices for Kindy fees have been placed in pockets. This years full-time fees will be as follows: $150 per term and a one off materials fee for term 1 of $10. (term 1 $160 in total) Or there is the option to pay for 4 terms upfront of $610.00. Please endeavour to pay fees as soon as possible.

Lee’s News Dear parents and caregivers, What a busy time kindy has been. We have all settled into kindy and are becoming more aware of our routines, rituals and rhythms of the days and weeks. As a group, we have developed some agreements around our health, safety and wellbeing. Together, we have created three agreements to keep ourselves safe. They are as follows…

• Looking after OURSELVES • Looking after EACH OTHER • Looking after our KINDY/Environment

These agreements are set in place to guide us to be respectful and kind to ourselves and our friends. We will be exploring what these look like in practice and we will continue developing children’s understanding and ownership around the responsibilities of being a valued and powerful citizen of Lobethal Kindergarten. We would LOVE you to be a part of this learning experience. So please, feel free to use this language with your child/ren.

I am looking forward to catching up with lots of you at our Welcome BBQ and AGM this Thursday afternoon/evening. Come along from 5.30pm and share a sausage and dinner with us. Please remember to bring along money for snags and a plate of savoury finger food or dessert to share. Don’t forget to bring along some picnic rugs/chairs and drinks. Please be aware that staff will not be on duty supervising children during our BBQ. We would love you all to play with your child as needed and supervise them appropriately. Due to health and safety reasons, will not have the full range of resources available for children to access. We ask that you help support the kindy children and siblings to care for our things and our precious learning environments. From 7pm we will have our Annual General Meeting. This is where we present the annual report from 2016 and declare all positions open on our 2017 Governing Council. We love our parents being involved in the decision making and strategic planning/fundraising of our kindy. If you would like more information about the roles and responsibilities of our GC, please see me. Looking forward to a great night catching up with you all and even meeting some new parents who we haven’t had a chance to meet up with yet! Fundraising is an extremely important part of running our kindy. We generally have a fundraising committee which is formed from our general committee after the AGM. We have a couple of fundraising items/events coming up and

they are as follows:-

Fundraising News

Bunnings BBQ Saturday the 4th of March.

Do you have any contacts you could ask for donations of sausages, bread, sauce, onions (preferably sliced) or cans of soft

drink? If so please see Lee ASAP. We will be sending home a request shortly

for a small cash donation ($5-$10 per family) to help cover the cost of items we have to purchase, this enables us to make

100% profit from the BBQ. We will also be looking for helpers on the

day. Notes will be sent home ASAP.

People’s Choice Community Lottery This proved to be a great fundraiser for us last year and does not require

much effort from our committee or families. We will be sending home a book of lottery tickets for each family to sell. There are 10 tickets in each book and with 131 prizes they pretty much sell themselves. Paper tickets will be available to us from April but we will be promoting online sales on our Facebook page and groups to

boost our sales. Feel free to share the link below with as many family and friends as you like and they can purchase online. http://

- Check Lost Property box regularly. We already have a box of items that have been left.

- Please label all items that come to Kindy with your child.

- Borrow a library book with your child

- Read the whiteboard at the entrance for daily information

- Remember to be very quiet at the end of the day whilst the children are having group time.

Community News

Lobethal Community Playgroup Playgroup is now called "Lobethal Nature Connect Playgroup”. They are running as a nature/outdoor based playgroup and will

be run on a fortnightly cycle. Even weeks of the term will be held outside at the Kindy 9.30am to 11.00am - entry through the side gate. Odd weeks will be held at Lobethal Primary School in the

Pine Area at the bottom of the oval, 9.30am to 10.45. $2.00 per family each week.Reminder: Please ensure you have joined as a member of Playgroup SA this provides your family with insurance at any Playgroup SA affiliated playgroup. If you join before 16th of March you are only charged $35.00 instead of $40.00 for the year. They also have concession rates $30.00

and half year and term rates. To join just log on to their Web site playgroupsa.com and click on membership.
