LOANNA HASELTINE
Loanna Haseltine grew up in a small town nestled in the middle of the vast tracts of Alaska. From her earliest days, she always wanted to work with fabrics, to sculpt and to create fashion. At 14, Loanna started her design career by setting windows for a local clothing store. And already by 16, she was chosen for a selected group of high school students by Nordstroms to advise buyers on youth market trends. After winning a scholarship from the Fashion Board, Loanna, age 18 moved to Portland, Oregon, to study textiles and fashion design at Bassist Fashion Institute of Oregon, one of the premier sportswear schools in the US. In 1994, realizing a life long dream, she won a place to
Loanna fell in love with French chic, mastered the language, and decided to studied drawing at the Beaux-Arts. Recommended by her professors, Loanna was selected as an intern at John Galliano for two years. This was followed by an internship with Ocimar Versalato. At the mere age of 20, she made the courageous leap to take off on her own wings and created her own name brand.
Her designs continue to be inspired by her origins in the Great North, with references to nature, natural history and biology. Fall of 2002, Loanna Haseltine won the Vidal Sassoon Youn g Designer of the Year Award. Today, Haseltine is distributed in Paris, London, the US, Moscow, Asia and the Middle East. Her dresses are worn by leading members of the cinema, media, and also runway stars such as Pink, Cameron Diaz, Natalia Vodianova, Carla Bruni, Romane Bohringer.
In addition, she enjoys a strong and growing international private client list and has received coverage in Elle USA, The International Herald Tribun e, The New York Times, The Daily Telegraph, Financial Times, and Women’s Wear Daily.
