different aspects of swot in the ever-changing work climate. There are also a range of agency’s that can help you commit swot, they are known as benchmarks, thus you and other companies can compare with each other your stats, this works as a target in which you want your company to be at when comparing to companies that might be ahead of you in the market. What is audience profiling? What sort of information might be included in an audience profile?

Audience profiling is so that you can correctly communicate to people who need information on your market, because of this you can correctly give information across to get the best result out of any up and coming products. Audience profiling includes points such as their demo graphic characteristics, this includes factors such as age, gender, socio economic class, income, religion, relationships, race, career, family size, education and marital status. For a business, they might also want to profile their business and those that are also selling with in that market, for example if you were to make a business profile points such as; location, customer size, employees, branches, products, revenue and the age of the business.Once the perfect demographic has been created a buyer personal is usually designed, this is a profile of your ideal / perfect customer, this acts as a character profile, so by creating one, the level of depth that is available is easy to understand to any one due to the lack of variation.Select a magazine and find their audience profile:

Empire magazine has a broad demographic, this is evident by the percentage of male to female ratio that is displayed in the graph, as there is around a 70 to 30% split on the number of males to females who are in the demographic, this carries on to the range age range of people

(Empire magazine graph -

Marketing mix contains of 4 different points, these being product, price, promotion and place. The features and appearance of goods and services that fit into the product, in this aspect you can look at the size, quality, quality and design of your product, packaging is an important factor; in making your audience want to buy your product, as a result of this you will want to make your product want to stand out from the rest, this might mean that it is more visually pleasing then the other compensators, this may be an important factor if people will want to buy your product of not.Price will determine how much your customers are willing to pay for your product, important factors such as the quality and the demand of your product will influence the end price. Discounts can also be taken into consideration with the price, for example if a super market was to buy a product in bulk then they are likely to receive a discount, because of this they can knock the price of the product down for the customer, such as bogof (buy one get one free). Factors such as digital of physical purchase are also used to drive sales, may this be for microrotations or full purchases.Promotion is how the customers are informed about a product, for example advertising is the most prominent method that is used to achieve this, word of mouth and endorsements are also used as well as direct marketing. (e-mail, leaflets, door knockers)

Place is where the products are made available for the customers, this is the location of where a product is sold, exclusivity is a major factor in this as many products are only sold in one brand or location, this includes the location in the shop. For example, in most supermarkets all products are laid out in a predictable manner to make sure that the products are easy to access, this is for both the employees and the customers. Online sites such as amazon do this to the same extent, this is clear by when you ask for ask for a certain product the suggestions that you receive.

All elements of marketing mix are equally important, for example if you are to buy a premium product you are only likely to buy it from a premium shop, for example if you are wanting to buy a premium laptop such as a MSI laptop, you are likely to have a more pleasant buying experience, the store assistant is likely to ask you what the specs you are looking for, as well as likely to promote the product to you, whereas on the other hand if you are wanting to buy a HP laptop then you will have a basic experience where you will ask for the product and an assistant will acquire one for you followed by the purchase of the product. Apart from the fact that they both have the same uses, the MSI laptop is made of higher quality materials with better specifications and have a higher cost as a result, whereas the HP laptop will have a poor build quality and worse specs, this will be reflected by a lower price.Select a publication, product or audience and explain the range of marketing materials that they use.
