LLTF BABY WASH CLOTH

You will need a piece of cotton or flannelette fabric 7 x 7”

A piece of cotton terry towelling either the same size or if you are also making the burp cloths you may have some odd bits left over, it’s a great way to use these up. (I purchase towels when on sale at Big W, Kmart, Spotlight etc).

Cut top fabric to size and lay right side down onto terry towelling

Pin all around and leave an opening of about 3” for turning

Roughly trim away excess towelling around the edges.

Sew a ¼” seam all around being sure to backstitch at beginning and end of opening.

Trim away excess towelling and cut off corners being careful not to cut stitching.

Turn to right side through opening.

Push out corners and seams ( I use a pencil shaped chop stick) A pen with its cap on or your thumb works well too.

Fold in opening edges and pin.

Top stitch all around about ¼” from edge being sure to catch opening in stitching

I like to then wash the cloths and give them a good press but of course fabric can be pre washed depending on your preference.
