The Oasis is Alive (with the sound of music)In the May edition of our newsletter we asked for donations for musical instrumentsand were amazed at the wonderful response! Our Manchay Oasis Care Center is blessedwith teachers with exceptional musical talent and, thanks to you, they are now able toimpart those skills to the children. Each class of school-aged children is able to have an

hour long class each daylearning to use the differ-ent instruments. One

teacher is hoping to starta band with some of thechildren with extra prac-tices on Saturdays. Thank

you so much for bringingto our children the joy ofmusic!

    New Facesby Elise Chadwick

We welcomed three new sisters into theLima Childrens Home recently! After the

tragic murder of their mother, *Emilia,Berta, and Melissa have been placed in ourHome as there are no other relatives who

can care for them. We take great comfortin the fact that their mother believed inJesus as her Savior and was taking the girlsto church before her death. God is in thebusiness of restoring lives racked with painso we look forward to seeing how He glori-fies Himself in this very sad situation. Please pray for the girls adjustment and

that our Lord consoles them in their grief.

Construction Updateby Tyler FossAs the Peruvian summer break approaches, the pressure is mounting to move the rest

of our kids onto the new site for the Childrens Home in Pachacamac. Our hope is still

to transition the rest of the kids into the new site before the new school year begins inMarch.

Construction is moving along at a good pace, but the funding for the finish work is dry-ing up. We still need just over $30,000 to buy the rest of the materials to finish the

first 5 housing units. If we are not able to complete the construction in time, we willhave to delay the move for another year so that the kids wont have to switch schools

mid-year. We would also need to spend$10,000 more to bring the current homeup to code. So, as you can see, we reallyneed your help to meet our deadline tomove the children into the new Home.

If you are interested in giving to this ur-gent need, please see our wish list on the

last page of this newsletter. Every giftcounts and moves us one step closer tomeeting this deadline!

Each finished unit will house 8 orphaned/abandoned kids.

As well as doing a lotof finish work on the houses in Pachacamac, they also got involved teaching in our momsprogram at the Oasis. Check out the chickencoop on the following page to see some oftheir handiwork.

    Why Llama?Llama culture is found

throughout Peru. Just likethe movie The Emperors

New Grove, you can find just

about anything made into theshape of a llama and justabout any type of clothingmade out of llama wool. The

ancient Incan empire usedllamas for their wool and as apack animal. Llamas still roamthe Andes mountains.Beware, they spit!

    Our First Wedding!by Nancy Miller

The Home buzzed withexcitement before thewedding of Jose MarianoSanchez and ChristinaDillon on Nov. 27th.Mariano was in the origi-nal group of 10 kids thatstarted our big family.

He met his wife atchurch where both have been very active in the youngpeoples group and AWANA. They are praying about a

ministry in the mountains of Peru after he graduatesfrom seminary. Please pray that God uses them in evengreater ways as they join their lives in service for HIM.

    Being Good Stewards

We love to give our sup-

porters opportunities tobless our ministry with thechildren. We also love tobe good stewards with theresources that God suppliesus with. These are severalof the projects underway atthe new Home in Pachacamac that will help the Home to bemore self-sufficient and teach the kids practical skills.

Quote from Moms Helping MomsBefore, when I wasnt here I felt bad and felt sad. It has

changed my life. Here I learn about God and read the Bible.

I am learning to sew in the sewing room. Before, I had no

idea how to sew. I am grateful that God has brought me to

Directors DeliberationsWhen they had seen Him, they spread

the word concerning what had been told

them about this child, and all who heard

it were amazed at what the shepherds

    said to them. Luke 2:17-18

Our desire is that these precious littleones that God rescues out of horrendous circumstances, and entrusts into our care, learn about the Savior of theworld and then they, like the shepherds, tell others theGood News about Him.We are anxious to make the move to the new site as wewill be able to care for many more children at risk andshare with them of the Light of the world that can heal

their broken lives. In order to do so we need to completethe finish work on a few more family units. This Christ-mas please consider investing in something that will last.
