Our unique history began with Frank Waterman, manufacturer of the Waterman fountain pen, who built the Fountain Inn in Eustis. Acclaimed for its beauty and fine service, the Inn, nevertheless, fell upon hard times during the Depression. It was offered to local doctors, who managed the top two floors as a hospital, named Waterman Memorial Hospital, while the bottom two floors continued as a hotel. Later, the hospital expanded and Waterman Medical Center was formed.

Waterman Village was established and opened for occupancy in 1989 as part of Waterman Health Care Systems, Inc. It became independent of the Hospital in October 1992 to become a part of Waterman Communities, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation.

We prefer Mount Dora over other towns, because we knew ourfamily and friends would just love visiting Mount Dora, and wouldvisit more often. Waterman Village is ideally located within a mileor two from: grocery & drug stores, banks, restaurants, churches,

insurance agencies, attorney offices, gas stations, financialplanners, hardware stores, a public library, physician offices, dental offices, hotels/B&B’s, a post office, an auto care center, a car wash,

Estate HomesThe Estate homes and Manor homes at Waterman Village, are reminiscent of luxurious country manor homes, with brick or stone trim. Some have spectacular views overlooking a beautiful nature preserve below. Estate homes offer two car garages. No two are exactly alike. The Manor homes consist of five spacious, two bedroom, two bath floor plans. They include a garage with extra space for a golf cart and some include a den and/or screened lanai. Interior square feet ranges from 1,400 to 2,000+.

The Edgewater is available to non-residents of Waterman Village, on a space available basis, and is a leader in Central Florida, for ‘post-hospital’ rehabilitation care.
