• A Living thing is anything that is alive, or was alive at one time
• A tree is alive. A log is also a living thing.
Living Things
• All Living things reproduce • Every living thing comes from another living thing. When a mom has
a baby this is called reproduction.
Living Things
• All living things grow • A seed grows into a flower. A baby grows up too!
Living Things
• All living things need energy • People and animals eat food and drink water for energy. Plants
make their own food and also need water.

• All living things respond• We blink when a flashlight shines in our eyes- that is called a
response!
Nonliving things
• Nonliving things Do NOT: – Breathe
– Respond
– Reproduce
• Nonliving things CAN:– Change and move ( YoYo)
– May need energy ( car needs gas)• But do not eat food or drink water
