WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?Domestic violence is the willful intimidation,physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/orother abusive behavior as part of a systematicpattern of power and control perpetrated byone intimate partner against another. Itincludes physical violence, sexual violence,threats, and emotional abuse. The frequencyand severity of domestic violence can varydramatically.

What Can I do? L

In order for the domestic violence movement to facilitate effective and positive social change in our society, it is imperative that we all become advocate for non violence and stable environments for children and families.

You can • make a commitment to provide compassionate,

respectful support to the entire population we serve. • fight against the stereotypes dominant culture

forces on abused people. • find and develop means to educate and empower• create social change and support organizations who

are providing safety, support and justice for victims of Domestic Violence.
