WHAT’S INSIDE:
Livestock Identification Forms
All animals coming to the Appanoose County Fair MUST be recorded on an
identification sheet by 5:00pm on May 16th, 2016!
All animals going to the Iowa State Fair MUST be recorded in 4-H online! This must be
completed by 11:59pm on May 15th, 2016! This is a Sunday, so please don’t wait to
get your information entered! If you need help, no one would be available during the
weekend!
This includes Market Beef (taken care of at weigh-ins), Breeding Beef, Cow/Calf, Bucket/
Bottle Calves, Bucket/Bottle Lambs, Horses, Market Sheep (taken care of at weigh-ins),
Breeding Sheep, Swine, Dairy Cows, Dairy and Meat Goats, Poultry, Rabbits, Dogs, Cats,
etc. IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR ID SHEETS IN THE MAIL, PLEASE COME INTO THE
OFFICE TO PICK THEM UP!
Pre-Entry dates are June 29th, 30th and July 1st. No Pre-Entry will be done before June
15th, 2016. No late fees or entries apply after the last day of the Pre-Entry Deadline.
All livestock and pets MUST be pre-entered by 5:00pm on July 1st, 2016.
You will need to come into the office, let us know which classes you are showing each
animal in, and pay the $5.00 per animal/pen stall fee; horse stall fees are $20.00. Both
rabbit and poultry require a $5.00 per species stall fee, not per animal. No stall fees are
required for dog, cat or pets because they are not stalled on the fairgrounds. Bring your
registration papers or other information that was not included with your livestock ID
forms.

Appanoose County 4-H Scholarships
Youth Project Loans from FSA
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Farm
Service Agency, FSA, makes operating loans to indi-
vidual rural youth, ages 10-20, to establish and oper-
ate income producing projects. These projects must
be of modest size and be initiated, developed and
carried out by rural youth participating in 4-H or FFA.
Each project must be part of an organized and super-
vised, program of work. It must be planned and
operated with the assistance of the youth’s parents
and organization leader or advisor, produce
sufficient income to repay the loan and provide the
youth with practical business and educational experi-
ence. These loans can finance nearly any kind of
agricultural income producing project with an annual
or term repayment plan, depending on the specific
project. Maximum loan amount is $5000 per
individual. The interest rate changes periodically,
but once the loan is closed, the rate will not change.
If you would like further information, please contact
the Monroe County FSA Office at 641-932-7134.
