Any other relevant update not captured above: The LIVES project management should discuss with the heads of the offices (BOA, OLDHA and irrigation) on how to communicate and work together in the future as there is new organizational setting within the agricultural sector in the region. For instance, effective from July, the irrigation department is organized as a separate office by merging it with the Bureau of water.

Assisted Dr. Berhanu in locating Tvets in Oromia region

It was hardly possible for Dr. Geeda to move to the districts and undertake different activities as needed as he didn’t have vehicle. Since the 23 rd of August 2013 he has been trying to coordinate the project activities and communicate with districts focal persons using mobile phone only. This issue requires urgent solutions before the IWMI people go to Jimma next week.

All issues related to the WSMD needs continuous follow up as people sometimes fail to accomplish what they have promised as there is no incentive given to them.
