A MESSAGE TO OUR SUPPORTERSDear Friends,

United Way brings together people, businesses and organizations from across our community, united by our shared desire to create a stronger community. Our goal is to make our six counties a place where every-one has the opportunities and resources to reach their full potential. We strive to eliminate the barriers to success that affect so many. It takes a holistic approach. We are the whole community - nonprofits and for-profits, public and private organizations, experts and everyday people - working together to realize the community’s vision of a better life for all.

Thank you to those who LIVE UNITED!!

Bryan TaylorPresidentUnited Way of Northwest Florida

Dollar $mart Coalition/VITA/Money SmartUnited Way of Northwest Florida hosts the local VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) site each tax season. VITA is an IRS sanctioned program that trains volunteers to prepare simple tax returns for individuals and families with a low to moderate income. Our VITA site program processed 2,700 free tax returns which totaled $3,409,660 in refunds. Of the $3.4 million dollars brought back into our community $1,591,000 was through the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Community Impact FundraiserUnited Way of Northwest Florida serves as the premier local workplace campaign fundraising agent for our member agencies. We charge no dues and the only fees withheld from direct designations are a three year average of actual administration expenses, fundraising expenses and pledge attrition. Groups of local community volunteers meet annually to determine the community needs and award grant funding to the charities that are best able to serve our local population.

Local Federal Coordinating Committee, or LFCC, is the group of federal officials designated by the Director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)Washington, DC, to conduct the CFC program in a particular community. If you are a federal employee within Northwest Florida and are inter-ested in serving on this committee, please visit www.NorthwestFloridaCFC.org for more information. A special thanks to the retired federal employees serving in an advisory capacity.
