Live Oaks Student Leadership Launches the 2nd Annual Book Swap
Live Oaks Student Leadership Team is excited to announce the start of the first annu-al school-wide book swap. Students from pre-k to fifth grade, teachers, staff, as well as all Live Oaks community members are invited to participate in the Book Swap.
In order to make the event a success, the team is asking for gently used book donations from our communi-ty. Each book donated earns you one “ticket” (up to 5) to re-deem at the Book Swap.
Have more than 5 books to donate? Yes, please!
Our hope is to collect books in the fol-lowing categories:
· Board books
· Picture books
· Beginning reader/Early chapter
· Upper elementary chapter
· Teen
· Adult
Look for collection boxes around the school and in the lobby.
Please send in your gently used books by
Monday, February 27th!
The Book Swap will kick off Turn Off TV Week, March 6th!

Positivity Challenge
Take the challenge! All students are invited to participate in acts of kind-
ness in order to promote a positive environment within our school. Positivity can be
shown through acts of kindness, encouraging others, practicing gratitude, pos-
sessing positive attitudes and interactions, as well as always doing your best. We
invite all students to complete the Kindness Calendar for February. Each student
should place a check mark on each act of kindness completed. Calendars were sent
home this week!
Thank you for your support in strengthening our school community!
Students should hand in completed calendars to their teacher by March 1st
or when they have completed 20 acts of kindness.

Valentines for Servicemen and
Women
The Student Leadership Team has decided to sponsor Valentines for
Servicemen and Women. Thank you Mrs. Heffern for offering to deliver our
valentines to our servicemen and women at the Vets Center and VA Hospital! The
leadership team members are inviting the entire school community to participate
in creating a valentine. Students are also encouraged to create valentines for their
own loved ones who are veterans.
This year we ask that students create their own cards or 8 ½ X 11 “posters”.
We are not using a template for the cards as we have in the past. Please avoid
glitter and envelopes when creating their valentines.
Students should only write their first names on their
valentines. Valentines should be returned to school by
Friday, February 10th.
Thanks in advance for your support! The Live Oaks Student Leadership Team
