For more than 15 years HQ has been the mecca for all ages, live music events, bringing hundreds of young people from all over the Perth metro area to Leederville to enjoy their favourite bands and music styles in a safe, supervised drug and alcohol free environment. Many of Perth’s big names in music have cut their teeth and gained valuable live performance experience at HQ. The Gig Space has a capacity of up to 200 people and is equipped with a café and chill out area. Live events are held most Friday and Saturday nights throughout the year with events covering a range of genres, including dance music, indie pop/rock, metal/hardcore and hip hop/rap. Once every two weeks HQ features the well-attended Sweet Oblivion series giving young up-and-coming artists the opportunity to perform live and the venue is a regular stop for touring national and international artists wanting to perform for their younger fans. In addition to the live music the HQ Gig Space is also starting to feature other forms of performance including stand-up comedy and theatre and is a great space for performance art.
