IN 2018 I CELEBR ATED MY ONE-YE AR ANN IVERSARY AT THE HELM OF BOOT CAMPA IGN, AND I FOUND MY FOOT ING.
It was a privilege in my 27 trips across our great nation to share the message of what it means to live laced up for those who serve. Wearing my boots helped me boldly enter corporate boardrooms, convention centers, sporting clay ranges, CBS “SEAL Team” sets, and innovative treatment and training facilities to ignite important conversations. Ones that created opportunities to shine a light on the soul of our mission at Boot Campaign.
In 2018, as a nation we marked the 17-year anniversary of the most recent wars. For nearly two decades, we have turned off our cable news at night, powered down our social media, and gone to bed taking for granted the fact that we are protected by millions of men and women who take up their arms, lace up their boots and bid families and friends farewell, to walk boldly into hostility to protect our rights to work, play and live as we please, each and every day.
Though less than 1 percent of Americans have served in the armed forces, the 99 percent of us who haven’t served have an obligation to say thank you and do more. When veterans from any past or present conflict come back, it’s our responsibility to give back. Let’s lace up our boots and walk alongside in celebration, in remembrance and in honor of those who have served and sacrificed for us all. Join us to make 2019 a better one for the military community! Get your boots on and give back. LIVE LACED UP.

bootcampaign “I have had family members and friends serve in the military and know how hard they work and how much they sacrifice to protect and defend our greatest nation. Time away from family, holidays away from home — missing big milestones all to keep us safe and secure. I am grateful every day that we have these warriors protecting us.”@darylmoosejohnston @bootcampaign #LaceUpAmerica

RideL A C E D U PTHE 2018 RALEY ROAD TRIPOver the course of 13 days, paralyzed Boot Campaign Veteran Ambassador and Health and Wellness program participant Ricky Raley cycled it forward so other veterans could receive the same care he did. Starting at the 9/11 Memorial on August 13 in New York City, Ricky cycled over 1,500 miles, ending on August 25 in Pinellas Park, Florida, raising roughly $90,000.

Boot Campaign’s revolutionary Health and Wellness pipeline gives veterans access and funding toward individualized and comprehensive roadmaps to recovery.
No single organization has the ability to solve the diverse and complex challenges that face our military community. Boot Campaign joins forces with like-minded entities to steward veterans and their families through a life-changing experience to help those struggling with traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, self-medication and insomnia.
Partnering with evidence-based treatment and training providers across the United States, Boot Campaign aims to:

Your organization was the first to provide us help through the Health and Wellness program. The program was so helpful and the connections made during that time will last a lifetime. Because of those connections, we have continued on this journey of healing one step at a time, one program at a time.

Kimber Manufacturing has been a proud supporter of Boot Campaign since 2015. In early 2018, the well-known firearms company introduced two weapons to its product line. The lightweight hunter rifle and hero custom 1911 pistol, both adorned with the Boot Campaign logo, benefit Boot Campaign’s mission and programs.
“We fully support Boot Campaign in their efforts to help empower our nation’s veterans to successfully transition out of military service and into new lives as civilians,” said Winslow Potter, Kimber’s Director of Product Marketing. “We are proud to be spreading awareness of Boot Campaign’s positive work across our industry, with our customers and beyond.”
Since 2015 the Kimber partnership has helped raise more than $250,000 for Boot Campaign.
“We are delighted to see our relationship with Kimber blossom,” said Shelly Kirkland, Boot Campaign CEO. “The response we have seen to the Kimber rifle and pistol that support Boot Campaign lets us know that there is a great desire for Kimber customers to give back to those who have served in the military. We are deeply grateful to the company and their patrons.”

Thanks to a national partnership between Boot Campaign’s Santa Boots program and two other national nonprofits serving the military—Armed Services YMCA and Operation Homefront—80 military families in 27 states received “surprise” holiday gift packages with customized gifts valued at more than $500 for their entire family.
