Stacy Holt is a producer's assistant on a New Jersey talk show who's also happens to be dating a commitphobe named Derek but doesn't know about his ex-girlfriends, until her co-worker Barb convinces her to look through his Palm Pilot, looks up his past relationships and interviews all of them but winds up making friends with one of them: a gynecologist named Rachel. Stacy, Derek and his three exes all wind up on the talk show as part of sweeps week and Stacy breaks up with Derek after realizing that he isn't right for her and cuts Barb loose as a friend and quits her job to fulfill her lifelong wish to work for Diane Sawyer.
