Introduction

Do you walk down Second Avenue and see a lot of litter? Does it really bother you? Well, it really bothers me and makes me think “why do people litter?”. I have observed people who litter and I have figured out why they do it and I will tell you later.

Types of Litter that are more work

All litter is everywhere but some are harder to clean up than others .They are:

Litter thrown in the street

Garbage cans with garbage discarded next to them

Cigarette butts

Street LitterThe reason why this litter is more work is because litter thrown in the street so much makes the neighborhood look ugly. Also, garbage men have to risk their lives so that they can pick up garbage in the middle of the street. It makes no sense!

Litter Near Garbage Cans

The next thing on my litter list is garbage cans overflowing with garbage near the can. This just shows me that people are just plain lazy. There is a garbage can right next to them but they still throw the garbage next to the can but not in it. Lazy!

Cigarette butts

In third place is cigarette litter. I think it is hard work because most people do not extinguish their cigarettes making it harder to clean up. Not only is it ugly, it is also not safe. It could start a fire.

Conclusion

As you can see, littering happens very often and it is not a good thing on many different levels. People see other people litter and don’t do anything about it. It is hurting our planet. Littering has been increasing since the 1900s. I have noticed that people drop garbage in the weirdest places so that other don’t notice that they have littered. There are others, though, who have no consideration for their planet and are just plain lazy.
