Foundational General Reference
Dozens of basic general knowledge ready reference titles including English dictionaries, thesauri, quote books, writing reference, bilinguals and basic general reference encyclopedias lay a solid foundation for any basic query.

When you start with Literati, you are given a Core Title List. For Literati Public, this collection is called “Public Core” and contains over 600 titles. The foundation, of course, is general reference – encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, fact books, quote books, etc. All in full text – just like you would read if you had the print version open in front of you. Purpose of this slide is to display, visually, the type of e-book reference content you will find within Literati, in full text.

Then adding to that foundation of basic general reference, we’ve added more subject specific content. Here are more examples of titles you can access and search in full text within Literati.
Image Searching Credo’s titles contain hundreds of thousands of images, all in entries with full citations. Use images in class work, projects or print out as posters in the library.

Your basic core collection has over 200,000 images included within the content. Your library users can use our images for their homework and research. We encourage it! All that we ask is that you take the citation from the page where you found the image and properly cite the image. You can find a link to “Terms of Use” at the bottom of every Credo or Literati screen. Basically, as long as your intent is not to make a profit, but rather to learn or enrich someone’s research or education, please do use our images and citations.

The ‘text to speech’ option is found at the top of every entry or topic page. This is a screen reader that will read the full text of your article. Four of our dictionaries have additional audio content as well. The publisher has provided audio pronunciation of many English words. Use our ‘Pronunciations’ tool to find audio pronunciations for those difficult to pronounce terms. Great for ‘English as a second language’ learners and nursing/biology students.
