students to summarize the story Space Pup (students will have read the story prior to completingthe center but might need to be refreshed).

    3. Once at the center, the students will need to use four to five of these vocabulary words in a shortstory making sure that the word is being used correctly.

    4. For the above average, they will have some high frequency words thrown in the mix to give themmore of a challenge.

    5. For the average and below average students they will also have some guided help on the posterboard just in case they get stuck with a word. (helpers attached)

    6. The students will get 15 minutes to write their story. If the work is completed early, students candraw pictures to go along with the story.

    7. Once the students are done they will turn it into another folder, that is empty, that says completedwork that is attached to the right side of the poster board.

    G. AssessmentStudents will be assessed by the stories that they turn in making sure that they used capital lettersand punctuation appropriately and that the story makes sense.
