Unit 6: Song: Guidelines for parents and guardians

Come and see me in my town My town is so much fun, yeah. Come and see me in my town My town is so much fun, yeah.

Let’s go to the park There’s lots for us and do Let’s go to the toyshop, The bus stop and the zoo.

Come and see me in my town My town is so much fun, yeah. Come and see me in my town My town is so much fun, yeah.

There’s a swing at the park, A slide and a seesaw too. There are toys at the toy shop And tigers at the zoo!!!

Come and see me in my town My town is so much fun, yeah. Come and see me in my town My town is so much fun, yeah.

Ask about the different places on the map, e.g. Where’s the park? Your child points. (Other questions: Where’s the toy shop? Where’s the zoo? and Where’s the bus stop? (The bus stop is the sign next to a seat, top left of the map.)) Help your child to name the equipment in the park (swing, slide, seesaw, roundabout). Play the song. The child joins in and points to the places. Give the child crayons to colour the picture in. When he/she has finished, ask about the colour of the different items, e.g. What colour is the slide?
