Craftree.comInternational tatting forum, free registration requiredIncludes discussions, tutorials, database of different shuttles, tools, threads, patternsSome free patterns, mostly in the member's patterns section of the old InTatters forum which got absorbed into Crafttree
http://craftree.com/forums/1Gets you to the InTatters forum, which is english language (some of the other forums on Craftree aren't). Free patterns are listed under Members Patterns
If you search patterns by the list view, you get a list of the pattern source. Unlike Ravelry for knitters and crocheters, Craftree mostly indexes patterns, rather than directly hosting them. But that may change, it's pretty new.
You can also occasionally find tatting patterns on Instructables, and Ravelry, just do a search. There are some tatting patterns and classes on Craftsy, they are generally not free. There are some tatting tools on etsy, generally handmade and pricey. Tatting Suppliestatting supplies = a variety of prehemmed handkerchiefs and doilies for working tatting onto, satin ornaments for working tatting over, shuttle winders, thread organizers, etc
Most of the companies that specialize in tatting also carry many imported tatting books and patterns (Japanese, Italian, German, Spanish). These are usually charted, so there's not too much difficulty working the patterns.
