Therefore, in order to considerably reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO), the focus must be on reducing fuel con-sumption. The efficiency configuration of the Lion’s Coach EfficientLine includes equipment for opti-mising the driveline, aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance and the vehicle weight.This efficiency configuration is available for the Lion’s Coach, Lion’s Coach C and Lion’s Coach L – with the corresponding optimised seating.

High-torque engineMAN Common Rail diesel with 2,100 Nm torque and 324 kW (440 hp) performance for confident respon-siveness in all engine speed ranges.

MAN TipMatic® CoachThe 12-speed automated gearbox with optimised gearshift logic for bus operation reduces fuel con-sumption and protects the driveline.

Eco-hypoid rear axleThe drive axle, with a long gear ratio of i = 3.08, is ideal for a low engine speed level and reduced diesel consumption.

Weight-reduced equipmentLight yet very robust aluminium wheels with a five year warranty and the omission of the spare wheel reduce the vehicle weight, therefore reducing con-sumption as well.*

Energy tyresMaterial blend and design of the energy tyres reduce deformation, thereby also reducing rolling resistance and consumption.

TPM tyre pressure monitoring systemInspections have shown that 80% of all vehicles are driven with the incorrect tyre pressure. Even a tyre pressure of two bars too low increases consumption by 0.2 l over 100 km. TPM checks the correct air pressure and therefore avoids 99% of all flat tyres.Tyre wear is also reduced in this way.

Mudguard cover panels on the rear axleThe mudguard cover panels improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics and therefore contribute towards reduced fuel consumption.

MAN ProfiDrive® voucherOne of the most effective fuel-saving systems sits behind the steering wheel: the driver. Even profes-sional drivers can learn something with MAN Profi Drive®. The training sessions on anticipatory eco-nomical driving considerably reduce fuel consump-tion. Experience shows that diesel consumption can be reduced by up to 10%.

The MAN Profi Drive® voucher includes a driver train-ing course for optimising economical driving style.Participants receive a certificate for two modules according to the law governing the qualification of professional drivers (BKrFQG).
