Lino’s status is secure as one of the most important figures today in the contemporary glass movement. While raising the standards, he challenges himself artistically as he explores new forms and ideas of expression.

This exhibition debuts several new forms never before seen as well as the earlier series. One of the exciting new series, “Fuji”, involves a special murrini technique, softened into intricate wavy lines and patterns reminiscent of fireworks or sea grass. These works reference the large fused panels created in the late 90’s, where cane and murrini are fused together. In this case, the parts are assembled and blown into classic forms which

through the heat of the fire and the hands of the artist are transformed into beautiful abstract painterly surfaces.

The Angel Tear sculptures are classic Tagliapietra with an optimistic palette; the rich and unusual cane application is almost hypnotic. The Mandara marks the largest and most dramatic ever presented. We are also excited to feature a wonderful selection of the Dinosaur and Endeavor series

We hope you enjoy this catalog of remarkable new works and have the opportunity to visit our gallery in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where we have a wonderful selection of works available, including “George” a large fused panel, which has traveled as part of Lino’s retrospective exhibition.

This February, Lino celebrates a major solo exhibition at the Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti, Venice. This will be the most comprehensive exhibition the artist has had in his native Italy.

We are grateful to Lino Tagliapietra for allowing us the opportunity to exhibit this masterful work. Grazie Lino, for sharing your fantastic journey!
