Overview

The Glaz LineScan linear array camera range consists of:

• LineScan-II (high-speed, low noise, large memory)

• LineScan-I (high-speed)

• LineScan-LS (low-speed, low noise)

• LineScan-EC (low-speed, econo)

The LineScan-II/I are high-speed cameras. The LineScan-II

has the best high-speed performance with improved low-

noise power management and analogue circuits. The

LineScan-II also features large on-board memory.

The LineScan-LS/EC are low-speed cameras. The LineScan-LS

features a low-noise design and high dynamic range. The

LineScan-EC provides a more economical alternative.

USB-Based

The Glaz LineScan cameras feature high-speed USB 2.0

interfaces and are USB-powered. No additional power

supply or PC acquisition cards are required.

CMOS sensor technology

All Glaz LineScan cameras utilise the latest linear array CMOS

sensors from Hamamatsu. Combined with one of the best

ADC front-ends on the market, the LineScan-II achieves very

low noise levels and high dynamic range.

Configurable read-out schemes

The Glaz LineScan-II and LineScan-I offer two different

sensor read-out schemes: PulseSync and TimeFill.

PulseSync uses a non-interleaved read-out scheme. This

scheme is used for multi-camera measurements and

advanced synchronisation.

TimeFill uses an interleaved read-out scheme. With the

TimeFill scheme, very high temporal fill factors are achieved.

Advanced synchronisation (PulseSync)

In PulseSync mode the Glaz LineScan-I and LineScan-II can be

combined with the Glaz-PD photo-diode digitiser. Together

they form a synchronised system for pump-probe

measurements. The Glaz PC software can be configured to

automatically sort and average scanned lines.

Custom mounts and adaptors

For some applications, the Glaz

LineScan cameras are directly

mounted onto spectrometers (Ibsen,

Andor, and others). Synertronic

Designs offers a design and

manufacturing service for custom

mounts and adaptors.

OEM modules

The Glaz LineScan camera range is

also available in OEM modules. OEM

modules are supplied without

enclosure. These cameras consist of a

split sensor and processor board. The

two boards are connected via flat flex

cables (FFCs).

Upgrade old spectrometers

Many older spectrometers require acquisition cards.

Unfortunately, new PCs no longer provide the relevant card

slots (e.g. ISA, PCI or similar). Glaz LineScan OEM modules

can also be customised to replace the electronics on older

spectrometers (e.g. Ocean Optics S-series).

Software and drivers

Glaz UI is a free graphical

user interface (GUI) for

taking basic measurements

with Glaz LineScan cameras.

It also offers application-

specific extensions. These

extensions provide tailored user interfaces for certain types

of measurements (e.g. spectroscopy and Scheimpflug

LIDAR).

LabView drivers for the Glaz LineScan cameras are available

for free.
