A Weekly Newsletter for The Sanctuary Choir of First Baptist Church
Let the Countdown Begin! We had a wonderful “bonus” rehearsal last Sunday
afternoon and a souper time of fellowship. Thank
you for your hard work. I feel that Sunday’s rehearsal
got us over all the note-learning humps and we are
now free to “work” on the overall musical form. We
still have some Latin to learn, but we are getting
there.
With only 5 Christmas rehearsals left before we pre-
sent “The JOY of Christmas” program, it is impera-
tive that you make every effort to be here. New ele-
ments are going to be added each week, bringing us
to our final result. Don’t be caught off guard in these
final 5. Below is a reminder of what is left:
November 16—Full Rehearsal; Choir Room
November 30—In Sanctuary
December 7—In Sanctuary (with Children’s Choir)
December 10—Full Run-through; 3:00-4:30 p.m.
December 11—Presentation of Program; 6:00 p.m. (be here at 5:30 p.m.)
Help publicize! It is not too early to invite your friends or be praying for this special event. Posters
will be available next week or you can log on to the church website and download
your own.
Two Gentle Reminders. 1) The Christmas Choir participants are encouraged to sing each Sunday morn-
ing, beginning November 27th. We will be using music from the Christmas presen-
tation for our morning worship services. Please come and participate during the en-
tire Advent and Christmas season.
2) We begin full Christmas
rehearsals next week. Please pre-
pare to stay longer. Thank you.
Looking forward to this most
wonderful time of the year!

THE BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family Bi-
ble. He was fascinated as he fingered
through the old pages. Suddenly,
something fell out of the Bible. He
picked up the object and looked at it.
What he saw was an old leaf that had
been pressed in between the pages.
“Mama, look what I found”, the boy
called out. “What have you got
there, dear?” With astonishment in
the young boy’s voice, he answered,
“I think it’s Adam’s underwear!”

God’s Promise from Romans 8:28 (NLT) “We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those
who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
What Does This Mean For Me? Even though bad things will happen in your life, you can trust that God will
use every situation you face to bring about something good for you.
All Things
“We know that all things work together
for the good of those who love God:
those who are called according to His
purpose.”— Romans 8:28
by John and Kathy Frady
D o you feel like God has some-
thing more for you? Do you feel
a stirring down deep in your
bones that if you don’t get to experience
“it” soon that you’ll simply burst? Do
you wonder why others that you know
seem to be moving on to bigger and bet-
ter things while you seem to be descend-
ing into oblivion?
Does it drive you absolutely nuts?
If that’s the case, then you should know
something. You are not alone.
I feel that way all the time. I used to
think that feeling happened when God
wanted me to either change locations or
ministries. Now I know that I was right,
but not in the way I was thinking. It turns
out that God is always interested in our
good. And I’ve learned that most of the
time He is not telling me to move from
one place to another. He does want me to
move, but He wants me to move closer to
Him.
Help us remember, Lord, that the best
move we could ever have is close to You.
