Like so many other success stories, the rapid growth of Linder

Aluminiumbåtar AB has no definite start date. Indeed, in common with

lots of other companies, our story is that of a journey in which certain

milestones have spurred on our development and our vision. 1981 was

just such a milestone. That was when we started producing Canadian

(touring) canoes in aluminium, the material of the future. Just

two years later, our first aluminium boat (Fishing 410)

left the factory.

I realised aluminium’s advantages immediately.

“Light, strong and maintenance-free” were the

company’s first keywords. To these, we have

added yet another, “sustainable”. Aluminium is

gentle on the environment. Part of this gentleness

comes from energy savings in propelling aluminium craft

– small motors, more speed!

Since the start-up in 1966, I and the family have seen the company

grow in Sweden and abroad. We are now represented in most EU and

Scandinavian markets. Linder products can also be found in markets that

are new to us. South Africa, Thailand, Russia and the Ukraine are just

some of these.

In a nutshell, we are growing. Additionally, a number of our success

factors are clear. Linder products have long lifetimes and, in their product

groups, high technical levels. They are also very user-friendly and easy

to propel.

We will now be increasingly focusing on the continuous development

and launching of products that are in line with our philosophy. 2014 will

thus see a slight change in how we interact with you, our customers.

Innovations, large and small, will be launched at all times. The

days are past when the range for an entire season was

determined by what was in the catalogue. We are,

after all, a modern company. Consequently, in

2014, we will be investing even more in our

presence on the internet. Follow us there and

you will always find our latest ranges.

I would like to finish with a few more words on

our philosophy. We are still a family company. When you

choose one of our canoes or motor boats, you are guaranteed

a “Linder original”. That is why I, and for several years now, Jessica and

Cecilia take great pride in putting our name on our products. It is a promise

of quality throughout.

Quite rightly, the environment is now the focus of frequent and deep at-

tention. There is a trend towards environmentally gentle products. Linder’s

products rest on, and spring from, a rather robust philosophy shaped by

generations of thrifty, down-to-earth people. We produce intelligently with

little waste. A “trend” that has been a centuries-old way of life in the region

where we work. Furthermore, we make our boats and canoes from a ma-

terial that can be recycled time after time – aluminium.

A FREER LIFE

In today’s world, many things jostle for our attention. Material comfort (status)

is not the least of these. We at Linder feel and believe that freedom is im-

portant for everyone. The concept of freedom is interpreted in many different

ways. Linder’s contribution is to make products that free your time, energy

and financial resources! When it comes to materials, we think the choice is

easy. On top of that, we feel that our boats and canoes take their users to-

wards freedom – the freedom of simplicity, the freedom of easy propulsion...

SEVERAL EXPRESSIONS OF A SINGLE PHILOSOPHY


Throughout our company’s 45-year history, we have always been

customer-focused. For example, we feel that a boat should be easy to

row and stable. We also feel that movement should be just as easy

when you fasten a motor to the stern. That is why our boats are light

and thus require less energy for propulsion, whether it is you or a motor

doing the propelling.

STABLE, SEAWORTHY AND SAFE

A Linder boat is safe. We have certificates proving this. However, such

papers say little about the feeling of being on the water in one of our

boats. We know that our products are well-proven and appreciated for

their stable and safe design. The materials, in combination with cleverly

designed hulls, have given us several “best in class” awards.

PRODUCTS

Today, we make boats (in two different classes) and canoes. Our row-

boats and canoes have much in common. They are extremely seaworthy

yet light – products that draw you to the tranquillity of still and flowing

waters. With Arkip in pole position, our planing boats add speed to the

experience. No matter which model you choose, the motor is small, but

the speed is high!


It is said that all things are relative. Well, with a Linder boat, you

actually get more speed with less horsepower! Aluminium’s unique

properties guarantee this. Aluminium is good for the environment

and good for you. Reduced fuel consumption by itself saves you

a great deal of money. On top of that, perhaps many of us who

still want the lake and sea experience feel it is now only natural to

go for a craft that is one or two sizes smaller. There is otherwise

the risk that large, expensive and covered boats will remain in the

harbour. Our ranges include boats driven by motors from 2.5 hp

to 50 hp – speeds from a few knots to a full 32. No matter what

your needs, we can meet them with slightly smaller motors!

Aluminium is the most common metal in the Earth’s crust. Its very

availability has made it popular for many uses. Everything from

foodstuffs packaging to aircraft and boats. Despite its availability,

aluminium, unlike plastics, has its own “cycle”. Without losing its

unique properties, it is fully recyclable.

The aluminium alloy we use is strong yet light. Our boats and

canoes tolerate hard use and robust landings. There is no patching

and mending with aggressive chemicals. Linder boats and canoes

are cleaned using a sponge and water, possibly a little soap too.

You need do nothing more.

It has long been held that a product’s best environmental argument

is its durability. A Linder boat or a Linder canoe (Inkas) has a long

service life. We do not know exactly how long. Our aluminium

products have, so far, only been around a little over 30 years!

Our company is already certified in accordance with future

requirements in respect of producers’ liability. Our products are

almost 100 percent recyclable. Linder is one of the few small boat

manufacturers using buoyancy bodies made of polyethylene foam.

This thermoplastic can be recycled or, for the purposes of energy

recovery, freely burnt with no toxic gases being given off.

Is it business madness to build, like Linder, products that may

last a full generation? We do not think so. Quality and recycling

benefit more than Linder and Linder customers alone.

The small boat industry is rather tiny – even when considered

globally. Nonetheless, or perhaps exactly for this reason, it is

important that we follow in the footsteps of our industrial giants.

Tools, ball bearings, vehicles, beacons, etc. are all major Swedish

products that are founded on concepts such as quality. Thus, we

see “made in Sweden” as an argument for choosing a craft made

by Linder. We have noted how other countries are offering all sorts

of cheap products, aluminium boats and canoes included therein.

The quality of these products is far from consistent. When you

choose a Linder original, you also choose durability. You are making

a better long-term investment.

THE OUTDOOR LIFE WITH INKAS

Linder leads the Swedish canoe market. Given the durability of our

products, this is no surprise. Inkas canoes from our very first production

run early in the 1980s can still be found out and about. A few dents and

scars from years of hard use, but still fully functional and as reliable as

the day they were made. Visitors to Sweden will find many busy canoeing

centres that hire out Inkas canoes. Whether you choose to start getting

closer to nature in a bought or a hired Inkas, you will always find all the

options on our site.

Our Fishing models belong to the “classics”. With echoes of the wooden

skiff, we have created a light, maintenance-free and strong successor to

what has long been the choice of Swedish people. However, this favourite

is now in aluminium and thus easy to propel using a small motor.

The hull’s shape gives these boats their great manoeuvrability. They

are, quite simply, easy to row, stable and seaworthy! With a Fishing, you

have a boat that is easy to own. With a Linder car top transporter, you

create even more space and freedom. Indeed, Fishing’s low weight means

that the boat can be loaded single-handedly onto the roof of a car.

FISHING 440

Approved for up to 4 people and sheltered waters, this boat is a good

choice for the discerning consumer who wants a boat for long-term use.

No matter whether it is for fishing trips, outings amongst the islands

or, quite simply, as the natural choice tied up to the jetty next to your

summer cottage or permanent residence. When it comes to classics, it is

The “little sister” of the 440; just as seaworthy but slightly lighter still.

Even beginners can handle this boat with ease. Something we favour

because it increases your freedom and mobility on inland waters. The

perfect companion for really shallow water and greater depths. Ideal for

A planing boat with a hull designed for extra speed. This class comprises

our Sportsman models. They are excellent in most waters – lakes, rivers

and coastal stretches. The hull’s shape and the choice of materials make

these boats genuine “sportsmen”. Consequently, compared to those of

their colleagues that have equivalent motors, but are built from other

materials, they plough ahead a little faster. This can be called an efficient

use of resources!

Sportsman 355 is the smallest of the family and is highly suitable for

young users or as a little workhorse for fishing and everyday use. For

many boat owners, our Sportsman 400 has long been an appreciated

445 Catch is also an excellent transport boat. A planing boat that is at home on seaor lake. When creating Arkip, our goal was the perfect boat for offshore islands.

This was realised when, after a few years of work, the boat was launched

in 2004. It soon attracted attention and was voted a class winner*.

Measuring 4.6 metres and having a balanced aluminium hull, this is an

Like so many other success stories, the rapid growth of Linder

Aluminiumbåtar AB has no definite start date. Indeed, in common with

lots of other companies, our story is that of a journey in which certain

milestones have spurred on our development and our vision. 1981 was

just such a milestone. That was when we started producing Canadian

(touring) canoes in aluminium, the material of the future. Just

two years later, our first aluminium boat (Fishing 410)

left the factory.

I realised aluminium’s advantages immediately.

“Light, strong and maintenance-free” were the

company’s first keywords. To these, we have

added yet another, “sustainable”. Aluminium is

gentle on the environment. Part of this gentleness

comes from energy savings in propelling aluminium craft

– small motors, more speed!

Since the start-up in 1966, I and the family have seen the company

grow in Sweden and abroad. We are now represented in most EU and

Scandinavian markets. Linder products can also be found in markets that

are new to us. South Africa, Thailand, Russia and the Ukraine are just

some of these.

In a nutshell, we are growing. Additionally, a number of our success

factors are clear. Linder products have long lifetimes and, in their product

groups, high technical levels. They are also very user-friendly and easy

to propel.

We will now be increasingly focusing on the continuous development

and launching of products that are in line with our philosophy. 2014 will

thus see a slight change in how we interact with you, our customers.

Innovations, large and small, will be launched at all times. The

days are past when the range for an entire season was

determined by what was in the catalogue. We are,

after all, a modern company. Consequently, in

2014, we will be investing even more in our

presence on the internet. Follow us there and

you will always find our latest ranges.

I would like to finish with a few more words on

our philosophy. We are still a family company. When you

choose one of our canoes or motor boats, you are guaranteed

a “Linder original”. That is why I, and for several years now, Jessica and

Cecilia take great pride in putting our name on our products. It is a promise

of quality throughout.
