We would like to proceed with installation of the alarm system at the Parsonage. It
appears that a church member will pay for the installation; we would need to accept
the $30/month contract for 3 years. I'd like to get a vote on that action, the quotation
was previously distributed.
We are planning to proceed with more stripping and waxing of floors in different
rooms, sometime in the next 1-2 months.
I would like to get information on which actions the church would like to have
accomplished in the coming year, so that we can put together a plan for coordinating
with volunteers.
Actions taken in the last month:
Greg Albright buffed the hallway floors
Light bulbs in the attic above the sanctuary were replaced
Matt motioned that we approve the alarm quote maintenance for $30.00 per month for
the parsonage. Greg seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Matt advised that Greg will head up the stripping and waxing the floors in various
rooms. There has been $200.00 allocated toward that effort. Greg advised that he
plans to complete in February.
Matt asked if there have been any communication with the snow removal company. He
thought that the company comes unless we call him. Pastor Val added that he comes if
it snows more than 2”. It was also noted that Ray can no longer do the steps and
sidewalk therefore a volunteer is needed to take over.
IT Report
Matt advises they are focused on networking items. Greg added that there was
discussion at the planning retreat about what needs to be done before we can use the
TVs.

their hearts and their lives to produce fruit.
*5 Teen Guard members continue to be a part of the Xperience Praise Band.

teens prepared 70 bags of groceries for the December community meal. There were 2
teens that served at the meal.

dinner with Pathways and J-Zone afterwards.
*In 2016, the teens will do the following activities: Super Bowl Sub Sale, Winter Jam,

WIN – The teens talk about inviting other teens to church during their discussions on
“Where they see Jesus in the world” … We have a few new teens from these invitations.
EQUIP – Every session of Teen Guard includes a scripture passage that is read and
discussed. The teens relate the scripture to their lives at home, at school, or when
hanging out with friends.
SEND – Every session of Teen Guard concludes with ideas on how they can apply what
they learned into their lives over the next week. They are asked to share the following
week on how they applied it. Also, this past week we walked the neighborhood to pray
over households and streets of people. There were people who asked what we were
doing and the teens with their responses put some smiles on faces.
Tony wanted to stress that all events were open to all the people in the church if they
would like to attend. Pastor Val suggested a ministry moment to highlight that.

live streaming however this is not preferred for those who normally attend our church.
Also that direct deposit will soon be available. There was other discussion on more
appropriate places to put the pay pal button on the website.

Finance Report
Bob Brabbs
Bob presented the proposed budget for 2016 which shows a significant shortfall for
2016. He said that the committee reduced various groups quite a bit but still have a
shortfall of $13,661.
It was suggested that we may need an extra report showing where funding is coming
from for the children, youth and missions ministries so that the actual number looks
more accurate to what is spent.
Matt suggests that we need a fund raiser as soon as possible to overcome the shortfall.
Something above and beyond the capital campaign planned for April. Megan said that
she and Arline are interested in heading up a fundraiser of some kind either as a
stand- alone committee or task force under Finance.
Megan made a motion for a separate fund raising committee to be formed and Greg
seconded that motion. There was discussion around whether or not it should be under
Finance and it was decided to amend the motion as follows:
Megan made a motion for a separate fund raising committee to be formed with dual
reporting to Finance and Leadership Committees. The motion passed unanimously.
Bob stated that the actual 2015 is not yet 100% accurate as there are a few bills left to
pay, but it should be a really close representation. The proposed budget follows:
Bob motioned that we approve the budget as proposed. Neil seconds the motion. The
motion passes unanimously.
Greg mentions that there is a directive coming down for Finance to figure out how to
increase our apportionments.
New Business
Next month highlighted group will be led by Greg as we need proper wording in order
to explain to the church membership about the direction that the church is moving
toward.
Also on February 6 (Saturday) a group from church is going to the Creation Museum. If
anyone is interested in going see Jim Mullaney. The cost involved is about $16.00 for
seniors. They are meeting at the church at about 9:00am and may take the van.
The next meeting will be February 8, 2016 at 7:00PM
There was a motion to adjourn by Sis and seconded by Matt. Motion unanimously
carried and we ended with prayer at 8:50.
Respectfully submitted,
Joyce Magly
