LINDENWALD KIWANIS CLUB Of Hamilton Meeting Place ……… Colligan Lodge! Wednesday’s 12:00 noon Editor: JPM January 19, 2011 President Pat Millard Presiding SONG & PLEDGE: Our illustrious song leader, Don Ayers was not in attendance, so we were led by a group at one of the tables. Not bad but we need Don back. SPIRITUAL AIMS & OPENING PRAYER: Janet Lewis GUEST: Eve Yaw FINES: Jim Adams pointed out that some members are having memory problems and one member, Chuck Ramage, left his badge on the House Committee table and was thus fined. Tim D'Errico brought in a new member apron that was not signed by everyone. All who had not signed the apron were fined. The following were not in attendance so they will be fined at future meetings: Mike Allen, Doc Burkhardt, Mike Fawns, Jeff Judd, Dave Kirkpatrick, Paula Lee, Linda Martin, Jon Mathews, Phil Morrical Jr., Barry Richardson, Tony Traub, & Tom Wright. Sorry folks, but rules are rules. POTTO LOTTO: Joe Toman, Vern Turner and Bill Merritt were today's big winners. Apparently, Vern needs some instructions on how to draw tickets out of the Pot. Edsel had to give him two opportunities to get it right. Wait a minute, he drew his own number twice, maybe we need to take lessons from him. HAPPY BUCKS: Unfortunately, your President did not realize that our usual editor was not in attendance so no one was taking notes. Additionally, the editor today is older and his memory is short so could not remember those who had Happy Bucks. I can tell you that, based on today's attendance (only 22 members), your President did not have any Happy Bucks. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Reminder to those who signed up, that the Red Carpet luncheon is tomorrow at the Marriott. There will be a 5 th Division Meeting on February 3 rd in Middletown at the Forest Hills Country Club, 791 4 th Ave. Cocktails @6:00, Dinner @ 6:30 and Meeting @ 7:00. Cost $16.00 RSVP by Tuesday January 25, 2011. Our guest speaker was Robin Krause from “A Place for Mom” a “FREE” Eldercare Referral Service who assist families in finding resources of every kind. Robin explained the different resources available in our area such as; Assisted Living Communities, Alzheimer's Care, Skilled Nursing Homes, Retirement Communities, Residential Care Homes, Home Care Services, Respite & Hospice Options, and other Eldercare Services. Anybody that could utilize her services was encouraged to call her at 866-333-4783. She stressed that you may not be in need of any services at the moment, but may want to receive further guidance on what is available, costs, and any financial assistance that might be available.
