Dr. Linda Bartlett is a medical doctor and epidemiologist with over 25 years experience in clinical and public health practice. She works for Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as the principal investigator for a maternal mortality study and for an evaluation of the pre-service midwifery education program in Afghanistan. She is also assessing the quality of facility-based maternal and newborn care in multiple countries in Africa and a multi-country research study to develop a diagnostic algorithm to be used by community health workers to identify postpartum sepsis among women in low resource communities. Dr. Bartlett’s interests encompass two main areas – assessing and improving the quality of obstetric care in facilities, and developing and testing interventions that can be used in community settings.
