About us
LIH Light Impex Henze GmbH is a specialist in UV lamps established in 1998 in Grafing near Munich. Since then, our company has built up an ef-fective international distribution network with particular focus on the Euro-pean market.
What we offer
In production and quality control of our UV lamps we place great emphasis on compliance with high technical standards (ISO 9001 certification). There-fore our UV lamps are manufactured in Germany or Europe on state-of-the-art facilities and in compliance with highest technological and environmental standards to guarantee our customers stable top quality.
For our lamps we offer custom electronic ballasts, quartz tubes and sockets. In addition, we offer fully equipped UV-systems for water and air disinfec-tion.

Where to use LIH UL C and LIH UL Q lamps
LIH UL C / UL Q lamps are used for purification of water, air and various surfaces.
Advantages of LIH low UL C / UL Q lamps
Low pressure ozone-free UL C / UL Q lamps emit almost only UV C radia-tion at a wavelength of 253.7nm (90% of the total radiation). At this wave-length range UV radiation is most effective against pathogenic bacteria, viruses and spores, providing optimum disinfection.
When used correctly, UL C lamps provide disinfection of water, air and surfaces without any harmful side effects for humans, animals and envi-ronment.
• Germs cannot become resistant to UV C radiation.• UL C lamps kill bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores most effectively throughout their whole lifetime.• A special coating on the inside of the lamp bulb ensures stable UV C radiation. At the end of their product life cycle UL C lamps show a maximum fall-off in radiation intensity of no more than 20%.• The lamp’s glass serves as a filter for UV radiation that keeps dangerous ozone generating radiation inside.• LIH UL C lamps operate with common electronic and low-loss ballasts.
Purification with UL C / UL Q lamps involve low costs compared to chemical methods. This only stimulates the demand for UV germicidal lamps.

Air purifi cation and odour elimination treatment at highly frequented places, such as:
• railway or subway stations, hospitals, doctors’ waiting rooms, operating theatres, kindergartens, schools, nursing homes, laboratories, factories, offi ce buildings etc.• in air-conditioning systems e.g. of trains and open-plan offi ces
Surface disinfection:
• sterilization of surgical instruments• production and packaging of food items
Water purifi cation:
• water treatment in aquaria, ponds and swimming pools• disinfection of drinking water• disinfection of water for domestic or industrial use, wastewater treatment
LIH UL C lamps are low pressure ozone-free lamps made of tubular glass bulbs transparent to UV C radiation. These lamps emit 90% of their total ra-diation at a peak wavelength of 253.7nm, providing an optimal antibacterial effect. Thus LIH UL C lamps perform perfect protection against bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores and other microorganisms.
Safety guidelines:
• Do not allow skin or eyes to be exposed to UV radiation.• UV radiation causes skin burns and eye irritations like conjunctivitis.• In open luminaires UL C lamps may be operated only in the absence of humans and animals.• If such conditions cannot be provided, this kind of lamps may only be operated in closed systems equipped with suitable protection devices.

Where to use LIH AL C amalgam lamps
Amalgam lamps produce highly stable UV C radiation even in conditions of fluctuating temperatures. They are used mainly for the disinfection of wa-ter. Besides, ozone generating amalgam lamps are used for air disinfection based on oxidation processes of organic compounds.
Advantages of LIH AL C amalgam lamps
• Stable high level UV C radiation for water disinfection (water temperature from +4 to +40°C)• High effective UV C radiation at 253.7nm (up to 45% of electrical power), ozone generating lamps operating at 185nm initiate additional oxidation processes• Amalgam lamps provide specific power which substantially exceeds that of standard germicidal lamps of the same size• Achieving the same output with less lamps helps to reduce installation and operating costs• Special coating ensures longer service life of the lamps (up to 20.000 hours)• Amalgam lamps do not contain unbound mercury, this helps to reduce environmental impact• Amalgam lamps can be dimmed with electronic ballasts, thus reducing energy consumption, operating costs and emissions of carbon dioxide• Amalgam lamps can be produced in various dimensions: ø10...32 mm, length up to 2600mm, power range 20...1500W• Existing facilities and devices can be equipped with compact amalgam lamps in U-shape or more complex geometric forms
