EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Host.Games is excited to announce an ambitious project that will deliver next-generation gaming to anyone, anywhere around the world. Our high speed blockchain protocol powers our proprietary gaming platform which offers P2P settlements, provably fair random number generation (RNG), and one click hosting. The same infrastructure is available to anyone in the world, with which they can set up their own gaming dApp at near zero setup costs.

The HIP Approach absorbs the responsibilities of paying the licensing, gaming fees and technology buildout cost, so that Hosts can set up their casinos use near zero cost

Our vision at Host.Games is to create a robust, scalable, and secure platform for online gaming using blockchain, which will power several dApps to bring this new standard of gaming to millions of users around the world. The Host protocol will bring all the benefits of the blockchain to both digital and real-world gaming. The HIP gaming platform will be the first of many gaming platforms built on the Host protocol, which will serve as a reference point on what can be achieved with the Host protocol.

The Host.Games platform solves some of the biggest problems in the online gaming industry for both the player and the Host with our Hosting Incentive for Players (HIP) approach.

For players, HIP’s RNG and P2P technologies address the lack of transparency and trust that has long prevented higher levels of participation in casino gaming. For Hosts, the HIP approach will eliminate the expensive setup fees that would typically present a barrier to entrepreneurship within the space.

BENEFITS AND DIFFERENTIATIONS

Revenue Generated$2 million

Online gaming has long been gaining popularity and market traction, but there are still gaps and problem areas that have major market implications.

KEY PROBLEMS IN ONLINE GAMING

Due to the centralized nature of the online gaming industry, mistrust is built into every interaction amongst the 4 major stakeholders of the current system: platform operators, white label software providers, agents/aliates and players. This mistrust, we believe, is the main reason this industry has yet to reach its full potential.

LACK OF TRANSPARENCY LACK OF ANONYMITYLACK OF TRUST LACK OF SCALABILITY

Page 5: LIGHTPAPER - Amazon S3 · Hosts collect the rake and edge from games without having to deal with any of the financial or logistical barriers that might have previously prevented

HIP GAMING PLATFORM The Host.Games platform decentralizes power and influence in online gaming by shifting the focus from the operator to the host. Hosts can set up games and invite their friends from social media and other channels at a near zero setup cost. Game Hosts can also set up games with real money rewards, and earn edge and rake in the form of Host tokens. This is the foundation of the HIP approach, which is our strategy to ensure viral user acquisition and higher player retention.

This novel approach to gaming also has a positive impact on user acquisition for the platform. By creating small, closed communities or networks, we believe that we will increase the social elements of gaming for our users. Each host then brings new users to the platform, who in turn can become hosts themselves and play with their own networks. This viral loop will result in an exponential growth in product adoption in a very short period of time.

Traditional online gaming platforms often report low player retention. There are several reasons for this, but among the biggest is that when it comes to real-money gaming, players tend to quit a platform when they start losing money. This is where Host.Games steps in with a different solution. By allowing all players to host games themselves, which provides a powerful reason to keep coming back to the platform.

The informal (private or illegal) gaming market is estimated to be worth around $1 trillion. We have piloted our platform with casual private gamers and have found that they would overwhelmingly be willing to switch to our solution over in-person, private gaming. With this platform-based approach, we intend to market this model of gaming on a global scale for all types of gaming, which would bring an unprecedented level of trust and transparency to an otherwise centralized market. Furthermore, the use of Host Games legitimizes online gaming in several regulated markets.

5

Another issue with centralization is that it leads to homogeneous games in a serious environment filled with bots and professionals. For the new or recreational player, such opponents result in a poor gaming experience where players feel intimidated or disheartened, causing them to leave the platform. This trend means that operators face high churn and higher player acquisition costs.

We believe that the ease of game hosting will contribute to the virality of the platform, each new Host introduces new players and potential Hosts to the platform through their social networks.

The Host token can be used as a means to make transactions within the various games between players and the house, purchase in-app goods and features, and unlock various social features such as chat, emojis, etc.

By resolving some of the most significant pain points in gaming, namely trust and settlements, we will remove the barrier to entry for consumers.

Hosts collect the rake and edge from games without having to deal with any of the financial or logistical barriers that might have previously prevented them from becoming operators or agents.

Our blockchain technology, smart contracts, and the Host token are tools we use to make the gaming experience fairer, safer and more transparent for all parties.

By becoming a Host on the gaming platform, anyone can run their own online casino and take part in the wider shared economy. With one-click hosting, literally anyone with an Internet-connected device can host a table for a group of people either privately or publicly, and invite their friends through social media, chat apps, and many other convenient channels. The entire platform is built from the Host to the consumer, which means that being the Host is the most rewarding and prestigious part of the game.

HOW IT WORKS

As a Host on Host.Games, you can effortlessly launch your online casino wherever you are in the world. The platform will allow simple hosting of all kinds of games like poker, fantasy sports, slots and roulette.

A Host will be able to invite players to their tables straight from their social networks.

The Host can set all the rules (barring some that are specific to the game) including edge and rake or even no rake in our social casino platform.

The multiple customization options available in each game allow the Host to configure games to the specification of their user base.

Hosts set up smart contracts according to their preferred gameplay rules.

Smart contract options ensure that the game and all transactions are fair, trustworthy and transparent with simple, automatic settlements.

This is the future of not just casino games but of all games.

Being Host first, we expect a huge part of the 1.6 billion who gamble to be a Host at some point to earn and enjoy the experience of our platform.

Blockchain technology is primed to disrupt and improve the gaming industry, but there are still underlying issues of speed, high transaction costs, and the lack of a supportive ecosystem that prevent many projects from launching in the market.

The Host protocol is a decentralized blockchain solution that will deliver the next generation blockchain-based gaming platform to everyone around the world. Through its scalability and security features, this protocol aims to serve the growing gaming industry and be flexible enough to meet a variety of other use cases.

The Host protocol is ultra scalable and produces high throughput by using PoA consensus algorithm. Through our simplified smart contract language, the protocol will support our Play Channel technology so that anyone can plug-and-play, thereby improving the gaming ecosystem on the blockchain for all consumers.

With these technologies in place, all games that run on the high speed Host protocol will have near zero transaction costs, along with access to our Host network and the ecosystem and infrastructure to run dApps for the consumer market.

KEY FEATURES OF THE HOST PROTOCOL FOR WIDESPREAD USE IN THE GAMING

PARALLEL PROCESSINGLarger gaming applications need to divide the workload across multiple CPUs and computers. The Host protocol will support parallel processing as a default.

Page 11: LIGHTPAPER - Amazon S3 · Hosts collect the rake and edge from games without having to deal with any of the financial or logistical barriers that might have previously prevented

11

SUPPORT MILLIONS OF USERS CONCURRENTLYProviding a seamless gaming experience on a decentralized platform requires the ability to scale to the needs of millions of daily active users on the blockchain. For decentralized solutions to become mainstream, this technology will provide the same kind of instantaneous performance that existing gamers are used to in a centralized gaming experience.

LOW LATENCYDelays in the user experience can deter them from returning to the game, as well as make any applications build on a blockchain less competitive than their faster, non-blockchain counterparts. The Host protocol will support low latency in transactions occurring on the platform.

GAMING FOCUSEDGame developers building blockchain-based applications need the ability to enhance or customize their applications with new features. The Host protocol will support software and smart contract upgrades, so independent game developers can leverage the Host protocol to build any game.

PoAProof of Authority (PoA) is similar to Proof of Stake (PoS) but, instead of staking with the monetary value, an identity performs the role of the stake. PoA replaces several flaws in existing consensus mechanism and replaces them with cryptographic signature proofs and business contracts enforced and backed by the network. Key advantages of PoA include a higher level of security, increased eciency in block production and low costs of transactions, all of which are essential to provide a seamless gaming experience on the Host Games platform.

PLAY CHANNELSPlay Channels allow transactions to be handled between parties directly, off-chain; funds are committed and locked in a smart contract in advance. Then transactions occur between the parties, progressively signed by everyone involved. The final state is committed back to the chain in a way that proves all parties agree on the outcome.

DEVELOPER FRIENDLYWe aim to make the Host protocol conducive for 3rd party developers to create customizable options and keep adding games to the platform. A large segment of our platform is being made by game developers with game developers in mind, facilitating a cost-effective, instant, real money gaming experience.

Essentially, a Play Channel facilitates a two-way or multiparty discussion between users and a service or company. The participants verify the transactions at the end of each series of actions and/or transactions. These transactions take place off-chain, but they are impossible to refute later on and happen exclusively between the participants, meaning it is incredibly fast and cheap to execute compared to on-chain payments or transactions.

HOST TOKEN UTILITYHost token can be used in several ways:

The Host token is the sole token used to purchase in-game credits (e.g. chips) on the social gaming platform and therefore is the sole means of playing casino games powered by Host.Games.

Hosts will earn Host tokens when they collect edge and rake. Hosts will have to maintain a bankroll of Host tokens in order to payout their winners.

The Host token will be used to pay any fees charged throughout the Host.Games ecosystem. Part of the Host token collected in each transaction will be irrevocably destroyed by the smart contract.

13

The Host token can be used at our oine partner casinos and junkets as a digital token for high stakes gaming. With this, the Host token has an added utility in oine, real world gaming, which will be interoperable with casino chips in partner gaming institutions.

The Host token will serve as the native token for any dApp build on the Host protocol. Developers will be rewarded in Host tokens and will be required to use Host tokens on their platforms.

Page 14: LIGHTPAPER - Amazon S3 · Hosts collect the rake and edge from games without having to deal with any of the financial or logistical barriers that might have previously prevented

14

CASINO PARTNERSHIPS EXPLAINED A lot of high-value gaming takes place in casinos in the form of junket operations. A junket operator is someone who invests and manages certain venues within casinos as independent profit centres they typically cater to “high rollers”, and on our platform, they would be high revenue generating Hosts. Our Host token will also serve as a replacement for casino chips to cater to their requirements in the oine casino model. The scope and utility of the Host token will increase significantly during this phase of implementation. To begin, Host.Games will open its junket operations in the Indian subcontinent in the early part of 2019.

OFFLINE SUPPLY BURN

HOW IT WORKSHOW IT WORKS

GET HOST TOKENS FROM HOST GAMES PLATFORM

A player can purchase our Host token from the platform or use the ones earned by hosting games.

THE HOST CASINO CHIPS (HCC)

The Host token can be exchanged for Host Casino Chips (HCC) at our partner casinos and junkets which in turn can be used in that casino for playing games. The players don’t have to worry about the price of Host tokens as they buy at a fixed price and convert to Host Casino Chips of equal value. The value of 1 HCC is pegged to 1 USD (or to the equivalent value in the home currency of the junket operation). The pegging of value is done to lock in the value of the chips they intend to play with.

WHAT ABOUT WINNINGS?

The amount a player wins can be converted back to Host tokens.

TOKEN SALE PROCESSPurchasers will be required to go through a mandatory registration process that will take place in Q2 2018. Registered purchasers will then be able to participate in the first 24 hours of the token launch. Detailed registration and purchase instructions will be announced soon on our blog. Purchasers must have a user-controlled Ethereum address at the time of registration.

This registered Ethereum address will be white listed for purchasing Host token in the Host token sale; one will not be able to purchase Host token from a non-registered Ethereum address during the first 24 hours of the token sale. If any Host token has not been sold after 24 hours, the token sale will be opened up to non-whitelisted participants as well.

Exchange Rates, Limits and Cap

Host.Games’s Host token tokens will be available at an exchange rate which will be decided shortly. A minimum investment of 0.1 ETH is needed to participate in the token sale. A maximum of $25 million will be raised during the crowd funding campaign. The soft cap is set at $2 million. Because the Host token will be the fundamental method of interacting with the Host.Games platform, it must be broadly accessible during the creation event and thereafter.

TGE Details:

Host token will be created during one event and subsequently no additional tokens will be created. Over time, Host tokens should become more valuable and usable as the customer base for games running on the Host.Games platform grows. Increases in the value of Host token should not result in Host.Games-licensed casino games becoming more expensive to play
