MCAL Details

Lift Your Spirits is a ghost inspired mystery shawl pattern that is free for the duration ofthe MCAL September 3rd - October 15th.

Clues will be released at 9am PT / 12pm ET every Friday for the duration of the MCAL.See timeline below:

Special Stitches

Double Crochet Two Together(dc2tog)Work a double crochet in the specified stitchuntil two loops remain on the hook. Keepingthese two loops on hook, work anotherdouble crochet in the next stitch until threeloops remain on hook; yarn over and drawthrough all three loops on the hook.

Double Crochet Three Together(dc3tog)Work a double crochet in the specified stitchuntil two loops remain on the hook. Keepingthese two loops on hook, work anotherdouble crochet in the next stitch until threeloops remain on hook. Keeping these threeloops on the hook, work another doublecrochet in the next stitch until four loopsremain on the hook, yarn over and drawthrough all four loops on the hook.

Place Bead (pb)Remove the working loop from your hook,place a bead on the small steel crochethook, place the steel crochet hook in theworking loop and slide the bead off the hookand onto the working loop. Remove the steelcrochet hook from the working loop. Placethe regular crochet hook back inside theworking loop above where the bead isplaced and continue working in pattern.

● Pattern is written using US crochetterminology.

● Multiple stitches placed in samestitch/space are placed inparentheses before stitch type -- ifstitches are not placed inparentheses and come after stitchtype they are worked one stitch ineach of the following stitches. Ex: (2dc) means work two double crochetin next stitch. Ex: dc 2 means workone double crochet in each of next 2stitches.

● Pattern repeats are placed inbrackets, you can highlight theserepeats to make them easier tofollow. Repeats within repeats areplaced in braces a.k.a. curly brackets.Partial row repeats are placed inbetween asterisks.

● Ch-1 at the beginning of the row doesnot count as a stitch.
