Using the well known Scratch program, they will offer five weeks of fun and entertaining classes. Kids will need to have a Chromebook or computer available for class. Led by BadgerBots. Fee: $100

LEGO Robotics (Grades 3 — 5) | Live OnlineFridays, 4:00pm — 5:00pmJanuary 15 — February 19Construct, program and tackle challenges with robots! Our easy-to-use interface gives kids the power to create an open-ended design based on specific restrictions and tasks. They can even drive their robots around a virtual 3D space to visualize them! Take robotics to a new level in this exciting, creative course. Led by Engineering for Kids. Fee: $94

Engineering for Kids STEM Club (Grades 1 — 4Live Online | Tuesdays, 4:00pm — 5:00pmJanuary 12 — February 16This advanced course is for students comfortable with coding using multiple sprites, backgrounds, Engineering for Kids STEM Club has gone virtual! Each class introduces a new, hands-on, lesson. Students will focus on developing 21st Century skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and peer collaboration. Coding 2.0: Video Games (Grades 3 - 8) | Live OnlineWednesday, 4:15pm — 5:15pmSession 1: January 13 — March 3Design, code, test and share your very own video games using Scratch®! Students will use movement blocks, loops and other basic coding to design their own video games. Students will be given a Scratch® user account (if needed). Led by YEL. Fee: $85

Coding 1.0: Animation (Grades 3 — 8) | Live OnlineTuesdays, 4:15pm — 5:15pmSession 1: January 12 — March 2Students will learn basic & intermediate coding techniques with Scratch®. Students will be given a Scratch® user account (if needed). Led by YEL. Fee: $85

Coding 4.0: Challenge (Grades 3 — 8) | Live OnlineMondays, 4:15pm — 5:15pmSession 1: January 11 — March 1 This advanced course is for students comfortable with coding using multiple sprites, backgrounds, and scripts. Learn about variables, programming music with extensions, my blocks, and design your own sprite to use in TWO personally created video games! Students will use their Scratch® account to create and share code online with other Scratch® kiddos. Piskel will be used for sprite design. (A computer, over a tablet, is recommended for this class.) Led by YEL. Fee: $85

Coding 3.0: Level 3 (Grades 3 — 8) | Live OnlineThursdays, 4:15pm — 5:15pmSession 1: January 14 — March 4Taken a previous Scratch® class, or have prior Scratch® coding experience? This class can take you to the next level! Students take a deeper dive into Scratch® coding to design and code more challenging video games and animations. Students will use their Scratch® account to create and share code online with other Scratch® kiddos. Led by YEL. Fee: $85

We will waive or reduce fees for children meeting the criteria for free or reduced meals, or adults whose income requires support. Participants are encouraged to pay a portion of the program fee when possible. Most programs require a partial contribution from families; some programs do not have scholarships available. We may limit the total scholarship assistance given to a family. Scholarships are only available to OSD residents. This will be a sampler series. For students who have completed YEL Guitar 3.0, this session is focused on more complicated chords, creativity, and more! Students will get introduced to an array of common guitar skills like hammer-ons, slides and more! Use these skills to create your own riffs, solos and chord progressions! Grab your axe and get ready to grind! Led by YEL. Fee: $120

Oregon Drumming Ensemble (Grades 5 — 8) | Live OnlineThursdays, 3:30pm — 4:15pmJanuary 7 — February 25Let's learn Ghanaian drumming! Join RCI's music teacher, Megan Wiemann, for her popular drumming class. Each meeting will focus on numerous songs and the students will be able to participate in a virtual performance of two songs. You will need a bucket, or Tupperware, or even just a table to take part in the class. Fee: $22

Beginning Ukulele (Grades K — 4) | Live OnlineThursdays, 4:15pm — 5:00pmJanuary 7 — February 25Receive a ukulele and get five group class lessons. Farm to School Cooking Club (Grades 2 — 7)Live Online | Tuesdays, 3:30pm — 4:30pmJanuary 12 — February 16Join Maddie Smith, OSD Farm to School, AmeriCorps specialist, for a live online cooking class! Weekly classes will show kids how to cook with fresh ingredients that could be grown in a garden. Students will explore different recipes, how to grow their own leafy greens at home, and talk about nutrition. A weekly shopping list will be emailed to you in advance. Fee: $10

Yoga Kids! (Grades 1 — 4) | Live OnlineWednesdays, 4:00pm — 4:45pm | January 6 — January 27In this playful yoga class, designed especially for elementary aged-children, students will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises. This helps cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives.
