Life’s Profile Mother Alberta Teresa Jackson, the first daughter of the late Deacon Luther and Mother Jessie Mae Proctor Sr., was born on August 2, 1934, in Sylvester, Georgia. She was the third of seven children, of which two preceded her in death – James Arthur and Emory Lewis.

She was educated in the public schools of Worth and Lee Counties. As a result of her academic excellence, she was able to skip the 3rd and 7th grades and graduate as Valedictorian of her class from Lee County Training School, May 1951. She furthered her studies at Albany State College where she was named “Star Athlete of the Basketball Team” and the “Grand Marshall Queen” of softball tournaments. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, May 1955. She also did post-graduate work at Fort Valley State and Valdosta State Universities.

She began her teaching career in Lee County, August 1955. She taught at Hooker Elementary, Doerun, Georgia and Funston Elementary School, Funston, Georgia. After 31 years of service, she retired from the profession, June 1986.

She accepted Christ as the Lord and Savior of her life at an early age. She was saved and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost on December 15, 1955. She joined the House of God Saints in Christ Movement in Leesburg, Georgia that same night under the leadership of the late Bishop Nick Hightower Sr., Founder and Chief Apostle.

During the 64 years of membership, she served faithfully at the local, district, and State levels. Namely, Secretary of the Senior Choir and YPCA; Sunday School and Bible Class Teacher, Youth Church Mother, Vacation Bible School President and Church Secretary under the late Bishops J. L. Litman, Sr. and A.F. Caldwell; Secretary of the State Sunday School Convention under the late Superintendent/Bishops Ernest Reese and A.F. Caldwell; Assistant Secretary of the State Sisters of Charity Convention under the late Mother Sammie Lee Brown; State Mother of the State Sisters of Charity Convention of Georgia under the late Bishop Willie L. Booth, and Member of the Trustee Board under Elder Michael White, her present pastor. She was also ordained an elder in the House of God Saints in Christ, October 24, 2004.

She was married on September 15, 1956 to the late Charlie B Jackson, Sr. From this union of sixty years, they were the proud parents of eight children, fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She leaves precious and loving memories to be forever cherished by her eight children: Charlie B, Jr (Helen), Valdosta, GA; Tywannia Faye (Max) Williams, Mableton, GA; Darryl Lorenzo, Katrina Lavette, Pamala Katra Rowe, Tedrick Juan (Aylin), Demitri Sherrod (Erica), and Gethyn Ricardo of Albany, Georgia. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course,

I have kept the faith (II Timothy 4:7)

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,

nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to

separate “me” from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Romans 8:38, 39)
