General beneficiary administration

Less time spent on questions about or administration of beneficiary information.

• We maintain eligibility file feeds, so we have access to updated employee or retiree information at time of death.

• We consult with you and your employees and retirees to satisfy statutory and legal requirements for beneficiary designations like trusts, divorce decrees, community property, power of attorney, etc.

• You, your employees and retirees can call us Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. ET with any questions.

• We work with you to solicit beneficiary information from your employees, helping ensure employees have current beneficiary designations on file.*

At time of claims submission/death

A simplified experience for processing claims.

• We can be notified of death through our customer service line.

• We reach out to obtain death certificates and other information needed to process the claim.

• You only need to confirm that we have the correct information.

• We will work with the beneficiary and Everest Funeral Planning to help expedite a funeral home assignment payment when the family has financial worries.

We will be there for your employees’ beneficiaries on your behalf.

• We send out The Healing Book: Facing the Death, and Celebrating the Life, of Someone You Love to children affected by loss.

• We help the beneficiary to understand the claims process and answer any questions.

• Beneficiaries and their families can access the Aetna Life EssentialsSM program with services that support their well-being for the various stages of life.
