HOW YOUR LINE MANAGER
WILL SUPPORT YOU
webcredible > customer experience design 12
1-to-1s
• You’ll have 1-to-1s with your line manager at least every
month – you’ll discuss and agree an appropriate time with
them
• During every 1-to-1, you’ll review progress against your
goals & PDP
• You’ll also agree with them what else you’d like to discuss
during these meetings, so you’re both prepared
• If you want to discuss something urgent, you don’t need to
wait until the next 1-to-1
webcredible > customer experience design 13
If you have a concern…
• You should discuss any concerns with your line manager in
the first instance
• You’ll hopefully be able to solve the problem yourself, with
the help of your line manager
• Your line manager will continually follow up until the matter
is fully resolved
• If you can’t solve the issue together with your line manager
then arrange to speak with a company director, who’ll
always make time to meet with you
webcredible > customer experience design 14
If there’s a concern about your performance…
• Your line manager will discuss the concern with you,
without making accusations or assigning blame
• You’ll have the chance to reflect on this concern and
explain how you feel
• You’ll work together with your line manager to come up
with potential solutions
• You’ll have regular catch-ups with your line manager to
review how things are progressing
webcredible > customer experience design 15
Your development
• You’ll work together with your line manager to set timely
and measurable goals that will help you develop
• You should discuss with them what you’re enjoying, what’s
motivating you and what you’d like to learn/do more of
• Your line manager will encourage you to take risks and try
new things
• You’ll have the chance to solve problems on your own (and
where possible make your own mistakes) rather than being
hand-held by your line manager
• Your line manager will be there to support you when things
go wrong and celebrate your successes

Feedback for your line manager
• If you feel there’s anything your line manager could do
better, please let them know – they’ll be happy to receive
honest feedback, discuss it with you and act on it
• If you have concerns that you don’t feel can be discussed
with your line manager then arrange to speak with a
company director, who’ll always make time to meet with
you
webcredible > customer experience design 17
Company announcements & policies
• If you have any questions or concerns about company
announcements and policies, please discuss these with
your line manager
• Your line manager will provide answers and escalate
concerns if necessary

How your line manager will respond if you want to leave
• If you feel you want to leave Webcredible, please discuss
this openly with your line manager
• They’ll seek to understand why and check if there’s
anything they can do to make you stay (please note,
Webcredible won’t salary-match if the reason is money)
