Community Involvement

Assisting in our community is something that comes naturally to us here at FPI. We are extremely focused on giving back and we take social responsibility seriously. You will always find FPI employees volunteering their time and skills, participating in athletic events in support of charity, and reaching out to those in need. FPI employees love to sweat for a cause! Doing the right thing means supporting the community we serve. From enhancing student’s learning in local high schools to being the largest contributor to a local food bank, FPI funding and volunteering has a significant impact on the local community.Believing it’s important to invest in our communities, you will see us continually looking for ways to make a difference where we live, work and play. Below are just a few examples of how we get involved.

TOYS FOR TOTSFPI sadly recognizes that there are children in our local community who won’t know the simple joy of opening a gift during the holiday season. Each year, FPI employees enthusiastically come together in conjunction with the Marine Corps to gather and donate dozens of new toys for children in need.

BLOOD DRIVEWESTERN NEW ENGLAND UNIVERSITYFPI works with Western New England University bringing ‘real world’ workplace technologies to campus. FPI sponsors the FPI Excellence in Computer Science Scholarship, a merit-based scholarship meant to help motivate bright and ambitious students to continue to excel in the field of computer science. Also, in 2015, FPI donated funds to help equip the new WNE Cyber Security lab in support of the new Network Security major WNE hopes to offer students in the near future.FPI frequently sends employees to WNE for guest lectures to WNE’s Computer Science and IT Department classes and participates in WNE’s CEO Luncheon in which our former CEO, Tom Moran, was one of the first CEO presenters. FPI has also donated funds which enabled the start-up of the ‘WNE Women in Technology Group’. FPI is proud to work so closely with WNE enhancing the learning experience for WNE students and preparing our future workforce.

FOOD DRIVEAs part of FPI’s commitment to serve our local community, one of our annual initiatives includes hosting a food drive to support those less fortunate and help fight hunger. Each summer, FPI employees coordinate company-based food and fundraising activities to help meet the increased demand for food (and personal care items), helping out when food drives are not as widespread. FPI is proud to share that in 2015 employees donated an impressive $11,510 to The Open Pantry in Springfield.

BLOOD DRIVEFPI realizes that the demand for blood supply is constant and does its best to contribute to this life-saving need by hosting an annual on-site blood drive providing employees a convenient way to give back to the community, helping to save lives.

Committees

At FPI we are constantly focused on improvement...making things better...increasing value...and, we know that two people working together may be more effective at solving a problem than one. FPI encourages teamwork and you will have opportunities to join challenging and rewarding committees that give you a chance to step-up and get involved in brainstorming, researching, reporting and implementing initiatives.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLESThe mission of the Healthy Lifestyles committee is to help the FPI community enjoy an improved quality of life by raising awareness about health issues and inspiring healthy lifestyle changes that will result in a balanced mind, body and spirit. We focus on several aspects that influence our physical and emotional well-being including general health topics, nutrition, fitness and community events as these all play an important role in balancing the body.Good health is a long term objective, the everyday decisions we make are the things that most influence our health and well-being. By providing consistent support, our team hopes to inspire others to make better decisions and to do what is right for our bodies on a daily basis.

OPERATION YOperation Y, primarily geared towards those new to the workforce, strives to build a strong community within FPI, while bridging the generational gap. 'Op Y' focuses on developing team-building skills by organizing and coordinating events, working with the community outside of FPI to nurture a cooperative environment, and internal cross-training to increase our breadth of knowledge. Some of Operation Y's events include: Summer Kick-Off Party, Generation Y/Executive Team Wine & Cheese Night, and volunteering at the Springfield Emergency Food Pantry.

GREEN TEAMThere are a number of important reasons to 'Go Green' and here at FPI we have taken on the green challenge by forming the FPI GREEN Team. The GREEN Team has introduced company-wide initiatives to substantially reduce our use of paper, begun several recycling programs and organized a car pool program saving employees over 14,000 miles in only a six month period! They may be small steps, but their motto says it all ... “together we can do more.”

QUALITY AWARDS PROGRAMAs a company, we strive to infuse in every employee the desire and dedication to continuously improve all aspects of our organization. COMMITTEE FOR RECREATION AND PARTICIPATIONThe key to all great organizations are its people. The Committee for Recreation and Participation is our way to celebrate our people and create a community spirit. Activities include the Annual Employee Appreciation event, Take our Children to Work day, Holiday and Birthday celebrations, and charitable fund raisers strengthen the team spirit that is part of FPI.

You’ll even get to watch movies to learn more about particular topics.

FIELDFIELD - FPI’s Inclusive Electronic Learning Database - is our very own in-house version of YouTube. It’s a website designed to store and share training videos. FIELD provides a wealth of information and allows you to search for and view videos related to a specific product and/or service that FPI provides to its customers, as well as a variety of tips and techniques for use internally. Each employee has access to watch and create videos to share with fellow employees. And it allows our “Cecil B. DeMille Wannabe’s” to show us their film making talents.
