STEM Global Cardboard Challenge 2017 All children and their families are invited to join us for our 2nd Global Cardboard Challenge. Kids of all ages around the world will be busy on this day building amazing things out of cardboard, recycled materials, and their imaginations. We will be joining the fun! Wonder - Family Book DiscussionWonder, by R.J. Palacio, a best-selling 2012 novel for kids is coming to theaters this fall. Before you see the movie, join us for a family book discussion of this uplifting story. We’ll also do some interactive activities and make a picture frame craft (one per family). Middle School VolunteersFor grades 6-8. Do you need volunteer hours for school or church, or do you just want to make a difference in your community? We gladly accept middle school volunteers to assist with programs, prep for crafts, or to help keep the department spic and span. Interested? Day of the Dead Interactive Altar Remember and honor lost loved ones with our third annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) interactive altar. Starting October 16, everyone is invited to contribute dedications to display on our altar. On November 1, we will host a reception with music, crafts, authentic pan de muertos, and Mexican hot chocolate. Wednesday, November 1, 5-7 p.m.
