Keep paper clean and dry.
Flatten paperboard boxes before placing into paper container.
Flatten cardboard and place next to recycling station.

General Rules:
Empty any liquids or food from recyclables prior to disposal.
It is okay to recycle lids, labels, tape, and caps in our program.
Do not put recyclables into a plastic grocery bag.
Put loose recyclables into appropriate bins.

General Rules:
Any item that cannot be reused, donated, recycled, or composted should be placed in the Waste container to be landfilled.

Unopened cans that contain food or drink cannot be recycled. Open the container, empty contents, and then you may recycle.

HOW TO USE YOUR MINIBIN
A MiniBIN is a regular desk sized blue
recycling bin with a black side hanging basket
for personal waste.
General Rules:
Universal waste consists of everyday “universal” items that can cause environmental or human health harm if disposed of improperly.
Universal Waste:
Florescent bulbs
Aerosol cans
Batteries
Wires
Printer cartridges
Paint & propane cylinders
White goods (refrigerants, appliances, etc.)
General Rules:
Hazardous waste is waste that contains properties that are deemed dangerous or harmful to human health and the environment.
Please follow procedures outlined by Environmental Health and Safety to dispose of hazardous waste.
*Environmental Options is a 3rd party vendor equipped to transport hazardous waste at a cost to your department.

Reduce paper use by printing less or print on both sides of the paper
Donate excess office supplies and furniture to surplus at 12th Street
Use reusable to-go containers
Purchase products with minimal packaging

Chargers
Etc.
What is a MiniBIN?
Recycling will go into your blue recycling bin, and all waste will go in your side hanging black bin.
Both bins are emptied by the staff member into a centralized recycling station.
