The stonework exudes an eternal presence. Tibetan Stone’ features four major components, five low to medium height shrubs and one perennial grass, all native to our region. Pros • On the north, a stone patio with fire pit creates a comfortable privacy; • Low growing Pennsylvania Sedge carpets the steep east banking; • A stone bridge allows access to the unused southeast woods; • A small patio with stone, raised beds and a Zen garden redefine the porch; and • American Cranberry Bush and Red Chokecherry along with a redirected driveway create more privacy. • Stonework requires little maintenance; • Added features reduce mowing area while still allowing delivery access to important areas like the barn and cellar entrance; • Once established, the steep banking will never need mowing; • Small fruit trees improve privacy; • Native perennial plants thrive in existing soil conditions; and Cons • Limited sun patterns may slow new shrub establishment and desirable size; and • Entering the driveway may be challenging for large delivery trucks.
