Pros On the north, a stone patio with fire pit creates a comfortable privacy; Low growing Pennsylvania Sedge carpets the steep east banking; A stone bridge allows access to the unused southeast woods; A small patio with stone, raised beds and a Zen garden redefine the porch; and American Cranberry Bush and Red Chokecherry along with a redirected driveway create more privacy. Stonework requires little maintenance; Added features reduce mowing area while still allowing delivery access to important areas like the barn and cellar entrance; Once established, the steep banking will never need mowing; Small fruit trees improve privacy; Native perennial plants thrive in existing soil conditions; and Cons Limited sun patterns may slow new shrub establishment and desirable size; and Entering the driveway may be challenging for large delivery trucks.
