Li-Fi Technology
The future is here !
Li-Fi• Li-Fi is the transmission of data through illumination
by taking the fiber out of fiber optics by sending data through a LED light bulb.
• Li-Fi is a new way to establish wireless communication links using LED lighting network.
• It is the fast and cheap wireless communication system which is optical version of Wi-Fi.
Application of Li-Fi Technology
• Airplanes• Under water communication• Helps in education system • Helps in medical field.
Comparison between Li-Fi & Wi-Fi
• Li-Fi is a term of one used to describe visible light communication technology applied to high speed wireless communication.
• It acquires this name to the similarities to Wi-Fi, only using light instead of radio.
• Wi-Fi is great for general wireless coverage within buildings and Li-Fi is ideal for high density wireless data coverage in confined area and for relieving radio interference issues so the two technology can be considered complimentary.
• Technology Speed Data Density : Wireless (current) Wi-F-IEEE 150Mbps 802.11n Bluetooth 3Mbps IrDA 4Mbps
• Technology Speed Data Density :Wireless (future)Wi-fi 2GbpsLi-Fi 2Gbps to 10 Gbps.
How Li-Fi is different ?
• Li-Fi technology is based on LEDs for the transfer of data.
• The transfer of data can be with the help of all kind of light i.e. light may be invisible, ultra- violet, or visible part of spectrum.
• The speed of internet is incredibly high and the user everything in just a few minutes.
Advantages of Li-Fi technology
• It is possible to achieve more than 10 Gbps, theoretically allowing high definition film to be downloaded in 30sec.
• Mostly powered by LEDs so it is a cost efficient.
• Transmission of data fast and easy.
• It work under water and easy to communicate.• It also work in airways.
Conclusion
• The concept of Li-Fi is currently attracting a great deal of interest, not list because it may offer a genuine and efficient alternative to radio based wireless.
• As a growing no. of peoples and their devices access wireless internet , airwaves, are becoming increasingly clogged, making it more and more difficult to get a reliable, high speed signal.
• If this technology can be put into practical used, every bulb can be used something like a Wi-Fi hotspot to transmit wireless data and we will proceed towards the cleaner, greener, safer and brighter future.
