After falling in love with Cornwalls’ coast

last year, a Singapore based family approached

Camellia Interiors to transform their purchase

of a Victorian mid terrace into a UK base and

family holiday home.

The brief included

maximising the property's

potential as an exclusive

holiday let, with constraints

on budget and a deadline of

summer 2014. Embracing the

traditional integrity of the 5

bedroom property without compromising

the expectations of contemporary and flexible living was essential.

Camellia's fusion of many design elements

fulfilled the brief by complementing the original features with a coastal palette and simple, clean

lines, while embracing the iconic St Ives views,

not fighting them. The Wow factor was added

with black, acid yellow and white, accents of

which are repeated throughout the house on

contemporary ar twork, an intentional mix of

furniture, and luxurious furnishings, all supplied

by Camellia with accessories handpicked by the

design team from their own exclusive range.

With clients working and living in a different time zone, all work was scheduled in advance

and progress communicated with

the clients via email, Skype and

conference calls.

The unexpected discovery of a

basement and consequent review

of structural work and budget was

quickly capitalised on by Camellia's

design team and this extra floor now houses a cinema/media room and office.

All in time for this very happy clients’ family

to come together and enjoy this years summer

holiday in their luxurious Cornish dream home.

The clients' choice of Camellia to oversee every aspect

and detail of the renovation and furnishing has added double

the amount spent to the value of the property.

Plus the expected holiday rental value has increased by a third.
