Approved for use with fresh and salt water, according to the Brazilian Standard ABNT NBR 15511:2008 – Type 1 – Class HC, to fight class B fire, involving oil derivatives, such as: gasoline, diesel oil, naphtha, toluol, etc. * The STANDARD ABNT 15551 replaces and cancels the Petrobras N-2142 standard. The Argus Prime® AFFF 3% HC TP1 foam concentrate shall be used in the proportion of 3% of Foam and 97% of water. Extinguishing mechanisms: 1. Formation of an aqueous film that prevents the release of steam of fuel to the atmosphere. 2. Formation of a foam blanket, eliminating the contact of the oxygen with the liquid or flammable fuel. 3. The drainage of the expanded foam has a cooling effect. Characteristics • Classified by the NFPA-11 and ABNT NBR 15511 standards as a low-expansion foam (up to 1:20) • Applied through low-expansion foam generators, with or without aeration, such as: foam chambers, foam monitors, manual nozzles, sprinklers/sprays for deluge systems, sprinkler systems with foam, etc. For aerated foam generators, the expansion rate will be from 1:6 to 1:10 and for non-aerated foam generators, from 1:2 to 1:4. • They may be used in Class A fires, due to the excellent moistening feature. • Compatible with dry chemical powder, to fight three-dimensional fire with product leak under pressure and formation of puddles of product on fire. • May be used in most of the proportioner systems (in the proper dosage of 3%), such as: line proportioner (venturi type), bladder tanks, balanced presuuresystems , hydraulic systems, self inductor nozzles and around-the-pump systems. Argus Prime® AFFF 3% HC TP1 foam concentrate shall not be used to fight fires involving polar solvents, miscible liquid fuel with water (ex.: alcohol, ethanol, methanol, acetone, MEK, etc.). Argus Prime® AFFF 3% HC TP1 foam concentrate is a Newtonian fluid. Product DescriptionArgus Prime® AFFF 3% HC TP1 foam concentrate is a synthetic and nontoxic product made from fl uorinated surface-active agents and hydrocarbon surfactants and solvents. Approved for use with fresh and salt water, according to the Brazilian Standard ABNT NBR 15511:2008 – Type 1 – Class HC, to fi ght class B fi re, involving oil derivatives, such as: gasoline, diesel oil, naphtha, toluol, etc.* The STANDARD ABNT 15551 replaces and cancels the Petrobras N-2142 standard.

The Argus Prime® AFFF 3% HC TP1 foam concentrate shall be used in the proportion of 3% of Foam and 97% of water.Extinguishing mechanisms:1. Formation of an aqueous fi lm that prevents the release of steam of fuel to the atmosphere.2. Formation of a foam blanket, eliminating the contact of the oxygen with the liquid or fl ammable fuel. 3. The drainage of the expanded foam has a cooling eff ect.

Shelf LifeArgus Prime® AFFF 3% HC TP1 foam concentrate is a stable product and presents a shelf life superior to 15 years, since it is properly stored. According to the ABNT NBR 15511:2008 Brazilian standard, the user shall analyze the foam concentrate, in order to assure its performance in laboratory tests and fire tests, according to the following periodicity:

MiscibilityThe foam concentrate produced in Brazil have the same chemical nature (synthetics). Such characteristic allows them to be used simultaneously in fire-fighting and also allows them to be mixed in the same storage tank, since they have the same type and concentration. However, the ABNT NBR 15511 standard establishes criteria for the compatibility test for mixtures of foam concentrates in the same storage tank of different manufacturers.

StorageArgus Prime® AFFF 3% HC TP1 foam concentrate may be stored for long periods in the original polyethylene packages provided or in tanks, normally used in fixed foam systems. We recommend, for both, that they are protected against solar radiation and, specially, the ABNT NBR 17505-7 Brazilian standard requires such protection for the storage of foam concentrate in tanks. When stored in atmospheric tanks, they shall be built with an expansion dome with minimum capacity of 2% of the tank volume. The function of the expansion dome is to minimize the contact of the foam concentrate with air and, for that, the foam concentrate level shall get to the middle of the capacity of the expansion dome. This way, even if volumetric variations occur as a result of temperature variations, the foam concentrate level will be maintained within the dome. In order to avoid loss of product by evaporation, which condition is damaging to the foam concentrate shelflife, we recommend the application of a coating of 6 to 10mm of mineral oil, with less density than the foam concentrate avoiding, therefore, its contact with the air. Another way to protect the foam concentrate from permanent contact with the air is to install a pressure relief and vacuum valve valve on the top of the expansion dome, adjusted for the relief and vacuum pressure of 175 mmca.Atmospheric tanks to store the foam concentrate may be manufactured with: fiberglass, polyethylene, stainless steel 304 or carbon steel ASTM a-283 Gr.C (internally coated with epoxy).
