1) Menu .
1. Main
Figure 2 Main Menu
New: Create new project.
Open: Open existing project file.
Info: Check the project file information.
Save: Save the project file.
Save as: Save the project file to other name.
Close: Close the project file.
Load Summary: Check and add the room load information and room information by manual input
of Excel importing function
Import: Import the project file.
Import shd File: Import the export project file of LATS CAD or LATS Revit.
Report: Make the report (.xls file)
GERP: Function dedicated for LGE employee to export file for ordering system of products.
(Currently upload available at B2B GERP system)
DXF: Create Tree/Schematic diagram in AutoCAD file.
LATS Energy: shortcut button to LATS Energy website

Figure 3 System Name
New: Create new system.
Copy: Copy the system.
Delete: Delete the system user selects.

Rename: Change the system name.
System Setting: Check or change the system setting information. Function also available by
double clicking the name of the system in the system pane.
System Check All: Checks all systems.
*If Software version is different from project version.
Below system check all message will pop up when project open.

2. System Tree Pane

This pane shows an overview of your entire project containing all your created systems.
User can switch among systems by clicking on the desired one. User can create new systems
by right clicks or using the icons ( ) for various configurations.

At this pane user can work on his systems. Interface is easy to use either by drag and drop
function or double clicks and selection.

Creating a project
1. Click the “new” button

Check or change the project name and saving path. And then click the next.
2. Select and change the region data

Select and change the region climate data. User is allowed to modify temperatures and
humidity default values; an automatic calculation for WBT is done when inputting DBT and
humidity (RH).

Systems: Naming the system.
Region: Select the region (each region has a different database of available equipment)
ODU Series: Select outdoor series
ODU Types: Select the outdoor type
Simulation mode: Select the simulation mode (Both/cooling/heating), depending on your
selection at report tree view will show capacities values.
After clicking on OK button, a VRF configuration appears in Project Pane.

For each section of equipment the user has the possibility to select dedicated accessories, function is
available for both outdoor unit selection as well as for indoor unit selection.
Select the indoor unit either by drag and drop or by double clicking the void square (a new pop-up
window will open)

Generation: Select Generation
IDU Type: Select indoor unit type
IDU Model: Select the model name
Height difference from ODU: Below or above the height difference from ODU
Room design temperature: User can modify room temperature if Diversity is ON
Model capacity: The value represents the selected model’s capacity simulated according only
to temperature.
Est. Discharge Temp. : the value represents the estimated discharge temperature simulated
according model sensible capacity and room temperature.
IDU Tag: Insert tag of IDU selected. If user doesn’t insert tag, program numbered
automatically. This tag is shown on tree diagram, schematic diagram and validation property. Indoor unit type Duct selection
When ducted units are selected as indoor units for the system, one must consider 2 interconnected
features of the unit: air flow and ESP1. To select air flow, please push the drop down button select
manual input your demand for air flow in CMM2 (or CFM, or CMH, or LPS) and select an appropriated
value for ESP (to know availability of ESP, please consult PDB3)

Change the pipe length: Click the pipe length and you can modify the length and add number of elbows
(piping turns).
Select the Outdoor Unit (by double clicking on your outdoor unit image)
Full models: User selects the model directly
Auto selection: Based on combination, program suggest the outdoor unit
Defrosting factor: In heating to under “0” degree, the capacity is calculated automatically

After configuration of system is completed, user can proceed to simulation of system by clicking the
system check. The view of the Project Pane is selected either on Tree mode (user can see refrigerant
diagram isometrically) or Schematic diagram (user can see electrical and communication sketch).

Auto piping: Selects the pipe diameter and y-branch size automatically
System check: Checks the designed configuration and calculates the additional refrigerant
Validation property: Shows the validation property based on PDB

2) Multi
This is the page of Multi model selection.

For Multi system, configuration has to start with the selection of Outdoor unit first. User has to
previously decide whether to use “Buyer Model Name” or “Factory Model Name” for his configuration
(and save). By double clicking on the outdoor unit image, user can select a specific unit

Search Types: Search the model by category
Full Models: Search the model to all model list
Model capacity: Shows the model capacity and input power. The value represents the
selected model’s capacity at nominal conditions before simulation.

After system check and validation check, user is able to conclude if configuration is valid or not.

3) ERV
Select the system type (based on Hz, Location)

4) Single
This is the first page of Single model selection
Insert the room design and requirement information
Select the model and system information
After system check, check the simulated result.

5) Control System
* This function only Global, EU, NA version,except Domestic version.
Select Control system on the window,system type.

[ODU Group Design]
There are many designed systems such as Multi V, Multi, Single and ERV. Making ODU Groups by
clicking the button, ‘ODU Group Design’.
Click the button, ‘ODU Group Design’.
Click the button, ‘Add’, and then added ODU Groups.
Double clicking Group name and then change Group name as you want. Click the button, ‘Delete’, and
then deleted ODU Group.

Check systems on the System List to make group and then click the button, ‘<<’. So, Group 1st floor contains systems, Multi V1, Multi V2, and MultiV3.
Click the button, ‘>>’, and the contained systems will be removed.
[How to connect Between Master and ODU Group]
Step to design Control System depends on Controller designer starting Master (or Slave) to
ODU groups or starting ODU groups to Master (or Slave). Master central controller must be
selected. Master – ODU Group designs mainly.
* M: Master, S: Slave, C: Channel, M1C1: Channel 1 of Master1
Click the button, ‘Add’ on Central Controller (Master), and select M1 as ACP IV.

Click Channel 1 of M1.
Check the Group, 1st floor.
Click the button, ‘Connect’.
Group, 1st floor will be connected to M1C1.
After connecting it, color for Channel 1 of M1 changed to green. M/S column for ODU Group
List will be noted M1C1.

Connection between M1C2 and ODU Group, 2nd floor and 3rd floor is same method.
Group, 2nd floor and 3rd floor will be connected to M1C2.
After connecting it, color for Channel 2 of M1 changed to green.
M/S column for ODU Group List will be noted M1C2.
Click the button, ‘OK’ to finish design for Control System.

[Master to Slave to ODU Group]
Click the button, ‘Add’ on Central Controller (Master), and select M1 as ACP IV.
Click the button, ‘Add’ on Central Controller (Slave), and select S1, S2 as AC EZ.

Check S1,S2.
Click Channel 1 of M1.
Click the button,‘ Connect’
S1, S2 will be connected to M1C1.
After connecting it, color for Channel 1 of M1 changed to green.
M column for Central Controller (Slave) will be noted M1C1.

Check the Slave you want to disconnect from Master.
Click the button, ‘Disconnect’. Disconnection will be done.

Check each Group, 1st floor and 2nd floor.
Click Channel 1 of S1.
Click the button, ‘Connect’
Group, 1st floor and 2nd floor will be connected to S1C1.
After connecting it, color for Channel 1 of S1 changed to green. M/S column for ODU Group
List will be noted S1C1.

Connect Group, 3rd floor to S2 is same method.
If there are something to disconnect, check the Group you want to disconnect from Slave.
Click the button, ‘Disconnect’. Disconnection will be done.

[How to connect ACS I/O Module]
Click the button, ‘Add’ on ACS I/O Module.
Select which Controller you want to connect ACS I/O Module. Double click Quantity Input
required Quantity.

[How to connect PDI]
There are 2 way to select PDI such as Master or Slave. PDI design mainly as Master Controller.
[PDI as Master]
Click the button, ‘Add’ on Central Controller (Master), and select M1 as PDI Premium.
Check Groups, 1st floor, 2nd floor and 3rd floor.
Click Channel 1 of M1.
Click the button, ‘Connect’.

M1C1 will be connected to groups, 1st floor, 2nd floor and 3rd floor.
M/S column for 1st floor, 2nd floor and 3rd floor will be noted M1C1.
Check the column for PDI to connect pulse line.

Click the button, ‘OK’ to finish design for Control System.

[PDI as Slave]
Click the button, ‘Add’ on Central Controller (Slave), and select S3 as PDI Premium.
Check S3.
Click Channel 1 of M1. Click the button, ‘Connect’.
S3 will be connected to M1C1.
M column for S3 will be noted M1C1.

Check PDI column to connect PDI Premium to Group, 2nd floor.
Click the button, ‘OK’ to finish design for Control System.

[Design for Integrated Controller]
Select Integrated Controller as AC Manager 5.
Click the button, ‘OK’ to finish Design.

*How to revise design
1. Double click Design Screen.
2. Click the icon, ‘System Setting’ on System tab.
3. Click the icon, ‘System Setting’ on System Tree.

6) Report output
After simulation successfully concluded, the user is able to export a summary in the form of an Excel
report with several sheets containing output information related to the simulated systems or PDF
report.

LATS Agreement
Electronic Marketing
There is LATS Agreement menu on Help tab.
By uncheck check box, ‘I accept the Electronic Marketing’ (red box mark) and then click ‘OK’ button.
You can cancel the Electronic Marketing agreement.

New Functions
1) Import shd File
1. Click the button, ‘Export to LATS HVAC’ on LATS CAD or LATS Revit.

2. Click the button, ‘Import shd File’ on LATS HVAC.
3. Select Import file that is the exported file from LATS CAD or LATS Revit (*.shd).
2) Remote Controller, Dry contact selection remark
1. Click the button, ’Accessories’ on the window, Indoor Unit Properties.

2. Select remote controller, dry contact on Accessory table.
3. After selecting remote controller,R remark on Room image(T remark on N.America version)
4. After selecting Dry contact,D remark on Indoor unit image.

3) Header, HR unit change
Header or HR unit can be changed on Branch/Header Dialog as Substitute Model.
Select substitute model and click OK button.
4) Height difference- all
By clicking All, All Height difference from ODU to HR unit on Branch/Header Dialog
All Height difference from ODU to IDU on Indoor Unit Properties change at the same time.
It works same system.

5) Accessory All
If you want to select any accessory for every Indoor unit on same system, check All column and then
Click Add button.
If you want to remove any accessory for every Indoor unit on same system, check All column and
then Click Delete button.
6) Y branch, Header, HR Unit on panel
Select Y branch, Header, HR Unit by drag and drop from panel to Tree same as Indoor units.

7) Cut, Copy unit system
Cut, Copy unit between systems and inside systems.
Cut or Copy unit system and the Paste unit system where you want to paste it.
8) Delete Upper , Lower leg
Delete Upper or Lower leg for Y branch

9) Oil trap
Oil trap mark on Outdoor Multi Frame and Oil trap requirement on the report
[Report]

10) IDU Tag
When selecting IDU, user can set tag by each models.
User can change tag on IDU properties window. If user does not insert value manually, program
assign tag automatically by serial number.
The same name of tag can not be set on the same system
This value is shown on tree diagram, schematic diagram and validation property.
